Alec Baldwin In 'Rock Of Ages': Dressed As Dennis Dupree With Russell Brand (PHOTO)

PHOTO: What Happened To Alec Baldwin?

Alec Baldwin has, over the past five seasons, been seen largely in finely tailored suits as the hilarious NBC executive Jack Donaghy in "30 Rock." So while this outfit would be striking on anyone, for Baldwin, it's just about as far a departure as possible.

"Rock of Ages" director Adam Shankman tweeted this photo on Tuesday, showing Baldwin, dressed as bar owner and washed up rocker Dennis Dupree, alongside Russell Brand, in full Lonny the music venue owner and narrator regalia. With the film set in the 1980s, Baldwin's getup is reminiscent of Bret Michaels and any other number of hair metal rockers in an age in which denim was social capital.

Baldwin nearly didn't make it to production of the star-studded adaptation of the Broadway musical; citing a mysterious ailment, he asked Shankman to replace him, but eventually opted to stay on for the flick.

The dazzling cast also features features Tom Cruise as rockstar Stacee Jaxx, Malin Ackerman as a naive journalist, Catherine Zeta-Jones as a social conservative anti-rock crusader, Paul Giamatti as the mayor of LA and Julianne Hough as an aspiring singer.

Speaking of Baldwin and Twitter, the star recently joined the social networking service himself, and tweeted on Tuesday, "On the set with the one and only Russell Brand...."
