New Pawlenty Campaign Advertisement Reminds Everyone That There Is A Pawlenty Campaign

Tim Pawlenty: you guys do know that he's running for President, right? Made an announcement last week and everything. Shot the breeze with Matt Lauer. Stood in front of some Iowans. And then, Sarah Palin started riding a bus around America and hanging out with bikers, and people forgot about it.

So, Team TPaw is recapping the events of last week with one of their patented campaign advertisements. You know the ones I'm talking about -- shot with shaky cameras, at odd angles, with the candidate pushed to the side of the frame. This latest effort eschews the Michael Bay-style jump-cuts and visual pyrotechnics in favor of super slo-mo moments of Pawlenty blinking his eyes and hugging his wife, lending the effort a more stately and serious feel.

Of course, the whole thing is a carefully managed and packaged campaign advertisement, but it's oddly being billed as a "behind-the-scenes" look at the Pawlenty campaign. I'm sure, though, that no one who covers politics is going to report that this is actually an authentic backstage look at his campaign, right?

A week after officially declaring his presidential bid, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is offering a behind-the-scenes look at his campaign rollout in a new video, hoping to connect with voters and gain some traction for a push that was drowned out last week by news from other 2012 hopefuls.

Wow! They got someone to fall for that! So, good job all around, I guess.
