ProPublica:

Early last year, as they weighed whether to bar banks from speculative trading with their own money, congressional staffers turned to a key regulator for advice.

The response from Julie Williams, the chief counsel of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, was startling, according to people familiar with the conversations. Williams insisted new rules were unnecessary since this type of trading did not play a major role in the financial meltdown.

This will all come to pass when middle America finally decides to rid this nation of the corporate Greed that has sold out our economy to the highest bidder and Americans finally begin to produce EVERYTHING here in the USA! There is not one item in every house in this country that is not made in China! This must end!

A shift has occurred...corporations are people and people are now no more then commodity and exploitable resource...and the only free men left are CEO's and their politician henchmen. the rulers / banking cabal own and control humanity by manipulating the money system.

Politicians had ample time to not screw it all up and instead chose to side with the industrialist cartels and financial banking mafia criminals for yeas on end and all Obama did was join the same CULT....I say push them all out the window of their ivory towers...

the purpose of a republic is to elect people who are charged with representing the will of the people in their best interests. it has devolved into a .gov representing the interests of a select group of people at the expense of the people. while wall street is responsible for much of what ails the usa economically congress and the president have the power to change the path anytime they choose to. they choose not to. they are to blame.

To use a well-worn but appropriate phrase--"If it's too big too fail, it's too big to exist."

Put part of the blame where it belongs, on the lobbyists who had a hand in crafting DF and were well aware of what pitfalls lay ahead that we are reading today. If our lawmakers are so incapable of crafting effective legislation on their own and when doing so, are equally incapable of thinking ahead to potential problems that may arise, then what the hell is their purpose?

They serve the oligarchy and are charged with managing and controlling the population as an exploitable resource...Most Americans are working on the old idea this it is a democratic republic and it has long sins morphed into something resembling a corporate dictatorship..Politicians serve the corporate state.. the financial mafias that run the countries finances and banking establishment..

It is hard to rely on advice and leadership from Frank and Dodd, since they are principles in creating the original problems.

Wall Street banks know full well how to sabotage any reform. Delay, dilute, intimidate, and repeat over and over. That's why we need a real leader in office before any change is possible. That's why we need to let them fail the next time. That's why you can't trust anything they say.
