There’s music in the air, thanks to the slew of free outdoor concerts throughout Denver-metro this summer. Check out our five favorite series of concerts in the park; many kick off this weekend.
Jazz in the Park: How about some jazz overlooking Ferril Lake? The summer line-up at the bandstand near City Park’s pavilion includes Rekha Ohal, the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Convergence, and blues and jazz phenomenon Hazel Miller. Concerts at the Crescent: It’s a small-scale concert arena that’s hugely popular with music lovers. Throw a blanket on the sloping green of this Tech Center amphitheater or next to the nearby creek, and enjoy sounds ranging from surfer rock to country to funk to jazz. Summer Entertainment Series: The foothills’ Grant Family Theater in Clement Park keeps us on our toes with multiple concerts on varying days of the week and times throughout summer months. You’ll find an array of genres including flamenco, ‘80s, roots rock, R&B, an open mic night and even a ventriloquist act, as well as children-focused shows on Friday mornings. Confluence Park: Located where Cherry Creek meets South Platte River, scenic Confluence Park will host bands such as the Quemando Salsa Orquesta, The Denver Brass and The Red Sax Quartet.
