Roger Federer Defeats Novak Djokovic In 2011 French Open Semi-Final (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic in four sets to advance to the French Open Final, snapping the rising star's streak and stopping him just short of reaching the number one overall spot in professional tennis.

Federer made handy work of the Serbian, winning 7-6, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6. The loss ends the Djoker's streak at 43, one short of tying John McEnroe for the best start to a season.

Earlier in the day Rafael Nadal bested Britain's Andy Murray to advance to the men's final. Federer and Nadal will face-off in a classic battle on clay Sunday.
