Ah, I always knew there was a good reason Screamin' Dean never made it to the White House. He's delusional!

Technically speaking, yes anyone who is the Republican or Democrat Nominee could win the election.

So technically, McGovern (D) could have beaten Nixon (R).

As I think about it, it's very shrewd of Dr Dean. He knows exactly what he's doing. Let's send the message that we are terrified of running against Palin because she stands the best chance of winning. The GOP upon hearing this decides that she is definitely their candidate if the Dems are that afraid of her. They nominate her and Barack Obama cruises to victory in the greatest landslide since Reagan/Mondale.

thanks for saving me some typing because I had the same thought. Dean hopes to punk her into running, resulting in an Obama landslide.

Dean can't be that ignorant to really think Palin can defeat Obama. She would be massacred in the debates. So you must be correct, a dean strategy to get her to run. Obama is vulnerable against a strong republican candidate, yet to emerge, unless the economy makes a major turn around. On the other hand, this nation's citizentry is not very astute, and if Sarah Palin could win, it's dumber than I thought.

Don't worry Dean if Palin gets the nomination she will not be ignored by Dems - what would be the entertainment value of that?

I think SP is a great motivator ...that drives Dems to the polls. All she has to do is speak.

I refuse to believe that the American voters could be that stupid. Sarah Palin is a disgrace to women everywhere.

Losing to her is like losing to a drunken, coke-snorting frat-boy, who ghosted his way through college and grad school... Oops!
If Obama stays in diffident mode anyone can beat him, including She Who Cannot be Named. The Obstructicans are hell bent on keeping the economy down and blaming all the consequences on his "failed presidency." We have 18 months until the election, plenty of time to start framing the issues. Failure to go FDR on their sorry butts will be the best chance the Republicans will have.

H Dean is quite right...and quite smart to make such a remark.
He is not nuts...he is quite good at planting a thought in our heads.
"....warns that Sarah Palin could defeat President Obama in 2012."
I magine what a voting machine that puts in gear. Last think I would ever want is that fruitcake in the white house. even on my deathbed I would find a way to vote.
This woman seems to think that Paul Revere rode a moped to warnt the brits that we have the NRA on our side...imagine that! (just a sprinkling of sarcasm there). :-)

He's saying what he's supposed to say lest dems take a look at the 2012 field and decide there's no work to be done to win. As loony as most think SP and her flock are, we can't forget that she does have a flock which means she's a danger should she take the nomination.

Dean has evidently come to grips with the idea that the American people are nuts!!!

Yes he has. It's sad, but I'm glad to hear someone say it...well someone besides Bill Maher.

"nuts" is a nice way to put it....i would have used a different adjective

luckily Governor Dean is quite wrong about this one. the second McCain chose Palin in 2008 I was happily proclaiming "Obama just won!" I had a lot of people telling me I was nuts but I turned out to be totally right about that one. if Obama somehow ends up going head to head with Palin that is a best case scenario for him. guaranteed, absolute 100% chance of winning. she will never, ever be President. she will probably never hold public office again.

The point is...not if people don't vote thinking that it's a done deal...we still have to vote

They'll be running to the voting booth to pull the lever for Obama. The Dems aren't going to sit around thinking 2012 is going to be a cakewalk.

This is not 1980 or 1992, becasue there are no Ronald Regan or Bill Clinton in the Republican Party..Huntsman( he agrees with Paul Ryan's plan and worked for Obama); Mitt Romney..two words(Flip Flopper and his business man cred is not that impressive when you look at it);Tim Palw is a hypocrite( he taxed people of Minnesota, and he left them with a 8 Billion Dollar deficit); Palin and Bachman(They lack 8th grade knowledge of American History)..These are not the 7 Dwarfs of 1992, these are the Unelectables!!
