MTV Movie Awards 2011 Live Blog (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
Packed with exclusive film clip premieres, fresh faced teen favorite stars and planned chaos galore, the MTV Movie Awards are the cool summer's answer to winter's parade of traditional black tie trophy affairs.
Hosted this year by Jason Sudeikis, the "Saturday Night Live" star who stars in the upcoming raunchy comedy, "Horrible Bosses," the 2011 edition of the award show will draw the curtain on clips from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," and the first trailer from the upcoming "Twilight" film -- though that already leaked online. JJ Abrams and Stephen Spielberg will also be on hand, to present footage from their upcoming epic, "Super 8."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, star presenters will include Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Jason Segel, Nicki Minaj, Ashton Kutcher, Cameron Diaz and Jesse Eisenberg. As for the awards, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," leads the field with eight nominations, while "Inception" has seven and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" is up for six.
Reese Witherspoon will win the "Generation Award," to be presented by her "Water for Elephants" co-star Robert Pattinson. The Foo Fighters will provide the soundtrack.

And that's it, folks. Hope you've enjoyed the live blog. The big winners were "Twilight," "Twilight," and "Twilight," and also Justin TImberlake and Mila Kunis, who kicked off the show with a little grope fest that'll be the talk of the high school tomorrow.
WHAT?! 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' won Best Movie? The way the night had gone, who'da thunk it?!
It almost doesn't matter who wins Best Movie -- Gary Busey presenting the award in a hamster ball steals the whole night.
Wins Best Comedic Performance for Easy A! Taking home the funny for the ladies!
Wait, did Jason Sudeikis, ex of pregnant January Jones, just say 'I may be a dad soon'?
How have we not seen those two paired up together before? No brainer.
And the Best Female Performance: Kristen Stewart. Twilight!
Has any other movie won an award tonight?
I think it's very vital that this moment lives forever. So, I give you, The Gropes: http://huff.to/m9tsND
From our hard working Style editor, all the red carpet styles tonight.
Reese Witherspoon disses all the Hollywood women who climb the ladder via reality shows, sex tapes and naked photos. Are the Kardashians in the house?
But did she also mean Blake Lively?
Robert Pattinson just dropped an F-Bomb on stage while speaking to Reese Witherspoon. I think he should get another award for that.
Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner just gave every teenage girl their first scare of aortic insufficiency. BY KISSING #movieawards
Perhaps the most iconic award of these Movie Awards goes to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. I think R-Pattz has won every trophy this year?
Well, ahem, the timing of the audio on this music sketch is off... and Emma Stone and Jason Sudeikis are not actually singing live. Who'da thunk it!
But funny anyway.
Since when is Yeasayer the theme song for "Twilight"?
Also, another for R-Pattz!
And Bryce Dallas Howard's baby bump. Great job! (she'll also be in the September dramedy "50/50," which I can very much guarantee will be up for some big awards)
Oh god. That was scary. Seriously, heart palpitations. That'd be like President Obama missing the DNC. Home team!
This is a pretty broad category.
Turning into a swan vs. cutting off an arm vs. flying in the air with poop vs. being a tween demigod.
Here's a safe bet: you're going to start seeing a TON of advertising/marketing for Chris Evans' "Captain America" now that "X-Men" has come out. It's down to "Green Lantern" and "Captain America" for comic book films this summer.
You've got to give them credit: they've never been the BIGGEST band in the world, but has anyone been as consistently great as the Foo Fighters over the past 15 years?
All I want is JIm Carrey's career to make a major comeback. Please, moviegoers.
Tom Felton takes it. He's been evil for about a decade now, which is impressive. You'd think people would hate him by now. But no! Popcorn!
Steve Carell, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling up on stage. Their romantic comedy is testing off the charts, and could be an instant classic, as far as the genre goes. Gosling and Carrell is kind of a dream team, no?
JJ Abrams and Stephen Spielberg, along with their two young stars, are unveiling footage from their upcoming epic. Watch this in silence and feel the smile come over your face.
Wait, where are the sparkles? Why isn't he being overly emotional? Where are the fangs?
And the Golden Popcorn goes to Robert Pattinson. EAT THAT LAUTNER, YOU LOSE TO THE BRIT AGAIN.
Third, fourth and fifth Arnold jokes in the monologue!
"Watch out for his next film, 'Pumping the Iron-er'"
This just in from our Style editor: Kirsten Stewart smiled on the red carpet; this marks her first smile ever on any red carpet
