Awwwww. How sad that Lily had to follow the rules like everyone else. You can always fly another carrier. :-)

The point isn't that she was trying to not follow the rules because she's a celebrity. The point is they charged her approx $65 US dollars to print up a piece of paper that they took away from her 7 minutes later. If you don't see that as being outrageous I'd like to sell you a kleenix for $100 but you can keep it after you use it.

I interpreted the story slightly differently. Under similar circumstances, I've always printed my ticket at home and watched as others in line (who did not print the ticket at home) being charged a fee. I agree that the $65 fee is outrageous. Caveat emptor.

Next time she'll keep up with the original so she won't need to pay for a replacement

Charging for the toilet? Are they going to charge to breath the air or sit in a seat?
01:57 PM on 06/06/2011
Or use the seatbelt....

In all fairness there are times that a person does not access to a printer within the 24 hour period before the flight. Many older people don't have a computer....

Berlin Air is similar. They advertise low "ticket fares" but after they hit you with all the attendant fees and charges it's not much less than flying a regular airline.

40 quid? Is that 40 pounds? For a boarding pass?

Yes- a quid is a pound, which means they charged her approx. $65 US dollars for that boarding pass.

Ryanair's business model includes fees for virtually everything apart from getting on board and sitting down. Their rates are among the lowest in the world, but everyone who flies on them should be aware of their rates and tactics. The mostly fly short trips so the need to go to the loo should be pretty low. Just make sure you go before getting on the plane.

she does have a certain something

She could have chosen to not fly Ryanair. It isn't like they aren't blatant about their fees. Since he chose to fly with them anyway she should not go whining on twitter over it.

The CEO wants to charge passengers to use the bathroom?  In that case, I suggest taking a dump right there in the aisle.
