Apple's cloud-based storage service, available Fall 2011, will provide a hub for iOS and Mac users to stash and access apps, documents, contacts, ebooks, purchased music and more. The product is free to use and aims to unify the user's digital life by letting her access cloud-stored content on any Apple device.

I already hate Apple's control for synching in iTunes - while iCloud sounds nice, I won't be using it. The iTunes Match feature also sounds really good, anyone who has received music via non-paid methods should avoid this service. This sounds to me like a very quick prescription for IDing illegal downloaders.

All iCloud is about is a new paid service which will cause all users to fork out more to their cell-providers for vastly increased data-streaming. Just imagine a kid listening to music 4+ hours a day - that is roughly 240 Mb per day coming down the pipe, or 7+ Gb per month. Really dumb!!

I prefer to control this all on my own.

I think the biggest news that came out of the Conference,
was that the new OS Tiger, is only $29.99

Icloud is really isync. Almost nothing stored in the cloud and do not forget where your pictures will be or they are gone forever.

ITunes in the cloud is really a great ideal for the data providers and people who like to listen to their music everywhere. Amazon service is slightly better.

ITunes match the best of the announcements. It makes a lot of sense for people who live and die in the Apple space. If you live outside of that space, it is useless.

MacOS Lion is more of a patch or small upgrade. The revamped mail brings it up to 2006 standards. The upgrade at $30 is a slight overcharge.

iOS5 looks to be a decent upgrade, while nothing evolutionary it does show Apple’s future path.

Lovers blindly love and haters blindly hate. Either way the truth hurts them both.

Considering I just bought the iPhone 4, I really hope they don't release a new one for at least a couple of months. It's nice having the newest thing for at least a half year.

This is Apple. Never in the history of the company could you say that what you just bought has a terribly long shelf-life. I consider any computer, or phone or whatever, to be "a two-year asset, max." I usually buy my stuff from the gently-used/reconditioned branch of their store, just as I usually buy gently-used cars.

From an absolute fanboi I still agree with you. Cloud is still a rediculous concept to me and I don't care that Apple put its logo on it.

Wait until you try the iCloud. You'll have a different perception.
