Katie Couric: Donald Trump Acting Like A 'Jackass' (VIDEO)

Katie Couric appeared on the "Tonight Show" on Monday to talk about her move to ABC and her book--and she had some choice words for Donald Trump and Sarah Palin.

Speaking about Palin--who mocked her when she left CBS--Couric said the former Alaska governor was covered too much in the media.

"She makes good copy and so they cover her incessantly and maybe more than they actually should," she said.

Host Jay Leno then asked her about Trump. She said she had been puzzled by his sudden turn to birtherism.

"He actually can be a very, very nice person with a good heart," she said. "But I think he was just acting like a jackass for a while." She speculated that perhaps Trump had been taken over by aliens for a time.

Let's see:

Quitter governor.
Quit while only halfway through her FIRST term.
Made the McCain campaign wish McCain hadn't chose her.
Gets history wrong - repeatedly. Then still insists she's right.
Gets facts wrong - repeatedly. Then still insists she's right.
Says she "hate the media" - all while doing everything possible to get media attention.
Is STILL on the payroll of FOX "News" channel, while pretending to run for President (but not really)

Hmmm.. nothing on there that I can see that has anything to do with a good reason as to why she's a "story" worth covering. Anyone else got anything? I mean, yeah, she's got plenty of two-bit zingers, but frankly so do lots of comedians. WAIT! That must be it. She's looking to start a comedy troupe.

Couric's take is interestingly predictable. She is now criticizing all the coverage on Palin. Yet, when she interviewed her, she wasn't tough either. But for Palin's own gaff, i.e. not being able to answer what papers she reads--a big one indeed, it would have been the same type of interview Palin has always received. Couric did not do much during this famed interview except get out of the way of a completely unprepared ignorant Vice Presidential candidate. I guess that deserves recognition because she just let her be, just like the guy that just asked her what did she take away from her visit to Boston!

When Couric interviewed Palin, Palin was a VP candidate ... that was news worthy. All of Palin's nonsense since the election ended is just a way for her to continue to get hired for speaking engagements.
