Sarah Ferguson: 'Bad Fergie Sells Papers' (VIDEO)

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, stopped by "Good Morning America" on Tuesday ahead of the premiere of her new show "Finding Sarah" on Oprah's OWN Network.

She shared a clip from one of the episodes in which she recounts her trip to Australia to find Andrew after Beatrice was born. Wiping tears from her eyes, she explains, "That's when the press turned on me. That's when they said I was a bad mother. Bad Fergie sells papers. It's never stopped since then."

She told Robin Roberts, "I've been so lucky to go from a total disaster last May and then for Oprah to open up her hands, and then Dr. Phil, to actually go and spend some time with Dr. Phil has been just extraordinary, I see him like a big gentle giant, but you have to be careful because any minute now he's going to say, 'No, Sarah, what are you doing?'"

She has also worked with finance guru Suze Orman and is now debt-free. Fergie explained, "We're going forward now, we're positive, we're creative, we're going to start again and Suze has given me the tools so this time, when I start again, it won't slip through my hands. And it was really slipping through my hands due to self-worth issues, rather than me spending money, it was me playing to the people, please your addiction. In other words, you need help, what can I do? Rather than actually taking steps and looking at why do I try to get everyone to love me by being over-generous."

She once again set the record straight on selling access to Prince Andrew (spoiler: she didn't), noting, "When I was sitting there, I look back at it now and I go, 'Sarah, what were you thinking?' The answer was, I wasn't thinking. I just wasn't thinking. I was just in a self-sabotage twirl of nonsense that had been building up after so many years and when I look at it now, I think, 'You just didn't think, you didn't logically listen to your heart, you didn't understand anything."

Only if she chose those awful hats.

Paying for access to people who can deliver contracts is the British way. She just slipped up and did it in front of a camera whereas the "business agents" who are retained by every major company in the UK would find more private environs to swing a deal to, say, arrange kickback to Saudis in the sale of Typhoon fighters...

Despite saying all the right things, Ms. Ferguson hasn't really come to terms with the emptiness of her life and is still looking for narcissistic solutions. I've written about this issue on my 'Movies and Mental Health' blog at PsychCentral.

Stop talking to the press, Fergie; they are not your friends. Go home to your family; they love you.

Are you kidding? American TV is the only thing that's saved her.

Who cares? This is embarrassing. And the "my problem is that I am just too darn generous" is a howler.
Like telling a job interviewer that your main flaw is working too hard.
Puh-eeze. Spare us.
I think less of OWN for adding her to the lineup. Dopey publicity stunt and borders on abusive to take advantage of an unbalanced attention-seeker who just needs money. And will say pretty much anything to get her hands on some.
Doubt Suzi Orman meant *this* as far as healing and moving forward.
Get a grip, your kids read this crap you say.
Please go away.
OK, thanks - bye.

She's very lucky to get Ophra's help, and that means the help of Oprah's extended team.

Oh no! Not Sarah Ferguson again. Going on and on and on. And whoever says the Duke or any palace member hated her or, is ill informed. The leaking of the Duke's letters to Sarah proved that he was very fond of her. It is the spreading of such lies about the Royal Family, and her crudeness and indiscretions that has alienated her from them. And good riddance too.

She should go away. Who cares.

Yeah, well it helps when you have influential friends who have lots of money. I swear this woman is on a perpetual "poor me" tour.

I'm curious about whether she thinks she is helping her daughters.

I can sympathise with her, but she needs to stay out of the spotlight. All the media attention makes things worse, but she seems hooked on fame. I hope she can 'kick the habit' someday.

Nonsense! She's responsible for her actions and can't be suddenly fixed right by Dr. P, O., or by SO!n Pathetic interview in MMHO.

It's never too late for any of us to work at changing.

Whether we are successful is another story.

In principal I agree. Notice that I said "suddenly" and the people who she claims set her right are not ones I'd go to if I needed help. Oprah, Dr. Phil and Susie Orman. NO thanks!

it seems that no one has a sense of keeping their privacy anymore. i am sorry for her troubles, but cannot understand the constant need to publicize those troubles constantly. this public pity party is off-putting. i think she should take the advise she was given, lay low, and find peace in this life.
