Karen Elson & Jack White Divorce: Pair Splits, Throws A Party

In characteristically atypical fashion, Karen Elson and Jack White have announced their divorce -- in the form of a party invitation.

Under the Gun Review has posted an invite sent by the iconic supermodel and her musician husband in which they kindly request the presence of invitees to celebrate "their 6th anniversary and their upcoming divorce."

In a press release, the couple stated:

"We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow. In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party. An evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family."

Jack was previously married to Meg White; together, they formed the band The White Stripes. Elson once told the Telegraph that she and Meg were good friends -- Meg was even Elson's maid of honor at her nuptials. Of Meg, Elson said, "She's brilliant, I love her. Her husband plays in my band. I see Meg all the time. I probably see Meg more than I see Jack at the moment. It's family."

I don't have any problems with this. The only thing that bothers me is that Jack White's interest in the black, white and red color scheme also seems to apply to his wives. Meg was pale with black hair. Elson is pale with red hair. That creeps me out just a little bit...

No idea who these folks are, but if anyone ever sends me an invitation like that, I'm sending my regrets. Divorces are sad, and I don't want to be around anyone pretending otherwise. While I understand and applaud the desire to avoid sniping, inviting your friends over to view the demise of a relationship is not the answer. Indeed, I even understand the impulse to have such a gathering: a statement to the world that you can still be civil and see each other at events. But I still don't want to go.

I live in Nashville, my ex-husband is a musician and a tour manager for bands... we also still live together and raise our child together. Our friends have never had to take "sides", we still go on vacations, parties, outings together... we have separate lives of course and do our own thing. But, we have dinner with our son at the table, grill out, have parties and have a good time. We work hard at it, it is different, we won't always live together, but we are making it work right now. I guess we just do things different here in Nashville :) More power to Karen and Jack!

Jack White is a tremendous musician, producer, singer. There is something a little strange
to me about his relationships. He continued to perform with Meg even after their divorce and
he throws a party for the end of this marriage. Maybe his actions are commendable, just not
sure how I would handle those things.

Dear all people who don't know who Jack White is,
You are sad sad human beings who probably stroll through the huff post entertainment page to read up on Lady Gaga and Rihanna facts, or you live under a rock. Jack is widely known as a great guitarist and has won multiple grammys. He is also an embasador of music. He is also one of the most reverred producers in music along with being one of the only blues guitarists left in current music. I feel sorry for you that you dont know who this amazing man is.

I know who he is, but I don't see how not knowing who is will make you a sad, sorry excuse for a human being. after reading your post I wish I had never heard of him at all
