MLS Fan In Cow Costume Invades Pitch, Scores Goal At Sporting Kansas City Stadium Debut (VIDEO)

Fan Dressed As Cow Scores First Goal At New Kansas City Stadium

Sporting Kansas City opened its new soccer-only stadium, LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, on Thursday night against the Chicago Fire. The club had played its first 10 games of the season on the road in preparation for the stadium-opening, so the local fans were chomping at the bit to see the home team play.

Or maybe chomping on their cud would be a touch more accurate.

Late in the match, in the 82nd minute, a fan dressed as a cow -- complete with udders and everything -- sprinted onto the pitch, tossed a ball onto the surface and apparently scored a goal; the goal wasn't seen on TV, but ESPN commentator John Harkes confirms that the man-cow found the back of the net.

The kicker is that this was unofficially the first goal scored at the new stadium during a match.
