It was, to say the least, an emotional night for Dirk Nowitzki.
As his teammates celebrated on the court, the 13-year-veteran retreated to the locker to "get a moment" after the Dallas Mavericks topped the Miami Heat in game six of the NBA finals, 105-95, to claim the 2011 NBA championship.
Nowitzki, the NBA finals MVP, was even brought to tears when he joined ESPN's Hannah Storm for his postgame interview.
"I didn't actually want to come out for the trophy, the guys had to talk me into it," he said, MVP trophy in hand. "I was just a little too emotional."
