Anthony Weiner Resignation: Why It's Really Happening (CHART)

The Huffington Post

A source close to Anthony Weiner has confirmed that the congressman will finally step down from serving his constituents. Of course, the question on everyone's mind is, "Why?"

Ok, actually, no, no one is asking that. We all already think we know why. But as we here at HuffPost Comedy have said many times, there's never just one reason for anything, even if that one reason is an enormously (get it?) embarrassing photo we tweeted. People are complicated, as are their decisions. That's why pie charts were invented, to give us a fuller picture (get it?) of what's really going on in a given situation.

With that, we present to you the following chart to help you get a handle (um, get it?) on Anthony Weiner's resignation.

Progressives are Socialist and Communist, Thank God he is going.

Personally, I like the "Tired of being the only guy who has the balls to be a voice for progressives." The sad thing is that I feel this is true. Progressives are losing a strong voice on the floor. Weiner, you will be missed.

Not funny. Despite his indiscretion, Anthony Weiner is a dedicated public servant who has been a strong and effective voice for progressive values.......and will be again! His personal behavior is not illegal and should be none of our business. Weiner for Mayor!

That truly was his big mistake, after his first mistake, that is. Guess the reality of such an embarrassment to him and his family, etc. was too much to handle.

The Anthony Weiner story is quite sad. Not for him, but for the women that put up with men like him. Here is this beautiful, well educated lady embarassed by her little boy husband. This has been a week of women being exposed. not by their unfaithful husband, but by their own stupidy. According to Mr. Weiner, his wife knw about his texting before she got married. Did she really think that marrying him was going to change him. Obviously, not. Then we have the x-porn stars that get Gloria Allred to represent her during her press conference. Gee, what was her point. And let's not forget Shannon, the women that has lived with Gene Simmons. If I'm not mistaken, he's had sex with countless women. Why did she stay with him? Can't feel sorry for her either. Then we have Arnolds maid. She claims that when Maria confronted her about the child, Maria hugged her and told her to get off the floor. Sure she did!! I really want to feel some kind of sympathy for these women, but I can't. This is not about men going wild. It's about women being stuck on STUPID.

sure bash males all you want. females are sleaze bags too and they get away with sexual affairs many times!!!

Boy, did you miss the point of that post.

Maybe it would be less sad if you stopped worrying about their "stupidy" and understood that you don't know these people at all and maybe their decisions are based on reasoning that has little to do with how you view them.

All of these "reasons" articles have been unfunny why is HP continuing with this and calling it comedy ?
05:53 PM on 06/16/2011
Not funny. And yes, it's too soon.
05:48 PM on 06/16/2011
How completely unfunny.

The concept could work but the "reasons" don't. Agreed they're unfunny. This needs a Letterman "top ten reasons" list....

What a very stupid article!

Republican didn't win anything. As in bed as in Congress, you can't do much with a flaccid Weiner.

And the Republicans WIN again. While Vitter sits nice and comfy in his office, with the full support of his Republican friends. Weiner gets thrown under the bus by his own party. Where is the consistency here? Friggin Dems, no backbone whatsoever. Republicans are thicker then thieves. While Dems are like trying to herd cats.
05:06 PM on 06/16/2011
Nice stance. "Our creepy guy resigns but yours gets to stay! Boohoo!" Really? Take the high road. They're both creepy, they both should resign. If Weiner was more tactful in his PR campaign he would probably still be in office.

Bottom line it's HYPOCRITICAL at best. Where was the "outrage" from Republicans concerning Vitter? Where was his calls to resign from people in his own party? Another thing he actually...uh...broke the law. What laws did Weiner break? I do however agree re his PR campaign.

As a Republican of twenty-five years who came over to  support this president I agree with you partly BUT  I do not like Anthony and in fact it is POETIC JUSTICE.  Read this http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2011/06/07/anthony_weiner_1991/index.html

It's not about if YOU like him or not. It's about consistent practices within both parties. Eric Cantor goes out and says it's up to Vitter's constituents if he should resign. Yet, he calls for Weiner to resign? It's all politics period. Weiner's constituents said he should remain, therefore he should have.
