Dana Bash Breaks Weiner Story While Heavily Pregnant (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/16/11 01:46 PM ET Updated: 08/16/11 06:12 AM ET

CNN's Dana Bash went all out to get the breaking news of Anthony Weiner's resignation on the air Thursday morning. How all out? Well, Bash was hustling to work on the day that she hit her 36th week of pregnancy. (Bash is having a child with CNN anchor John King.) That's nine months, to be exact: she's just about ready to pop.

While the New York Times broke the story in the morning, Bash had actually had the news of Weiner's intended resignation on Wednesday night. But her source barred her from going public with the news until the morning--which she did, becoming the first cable news reporter with the news.

Unions like Dana Bash/John King make me sad. He has older kids who do not live with him, and now he will have a kid that will live with him. It happens constantly but it is sad for kids. Could Dana have found someone who did not have kids? How nice will she be to his kids?

I know, it's none of my business.

Micro-bio? Sounds serious.

So, the angle of this story is that she did her job while pregnant?

Heavily or otherwise?
When you are carrying and growing another person, you are heavier than usual.

What would have the story memorable is if you had written she reported from the delivery room.

So does CNN award her with a raise or a complimentary foot rub?

Wow, what a concept. A pregnant woman does her job. Amazing.

And so that makes her what? Genius or just pregnant.

Once again the HuffPost makes me skake my head. Is there anyone working there over the age of 14?

SHE'S JUST ABOUT READY TO POP?

Really?

On May 25, 2008, she married fellow CNN correspondent John King.

Why would the article say: (Bash is having a child with CNN anchor John King.) without saying HUSBAND, John King. The media today is so sleazy. Why wouldn't the article give her credit for being married to the father of the baby? SMH

40 weeks is full term, not 36. Bash is only at the start of her 9th month. How is Bash going to work a story? Working right up until your due date isn't rare or unusual, unless there's a complication.

She should drop the child on the sidelines and get back to work... like Asian women in the rice paddies...

Bash said something that caught my attention: "Everyone was holding their breath waiting for the Congressman to talk to his wife" who works for Secretary of State Clinton.

I'm holding my breath in Ohio. You can't find jobs that pay a living wage. I wish Congress, Democrat and Republican was as exercised as I am about this issue.

1) "she's just about ready to pop." is a very offensive term. I don't know of any woman who uses this term or approves of this degrading and dehumanizing term. Women are not objects (i.e. balloons)--we do not pop.

2) millions of women work right up to birth--maternity leave is only for affluent western cultures. But even in our affluent country, poor women are NOT given the luxury of maternity leave. Poor women work right up to their due date and return to work as soon as they are able.

Why must we know that Dana Bash is ready to pop? It's not as though millions of us women haven't done it. Why is she so special that we have to be informed about it? Oh, i forgot, America is so dumbed down that they are confused unless the media tells them what is important.

We are supposed to be enthralled with all celebrity people. We are supposed to hang on their every move. The media has helped dumb down this society. Is there anything more important happening than Dana Bash coming to work pregnant?

The main stream media thinks so highly of themselves that they no longer fulfill their key function in a Democracy....that being to keep the leaders and the establishment obvious.

Boring......we've known the MSM is officially part of the establishment and now part of the problem.

Thank god for Rolling Stone and others....even the HP is too concentrated now that AOL owns us as well.

There is a documentary made by Edward R. Murrow many years ago. He profiles migrant workers working in fields in America. I remember that there was one woman who had had 29 children and keptl working. I guess she just lifted her skirt, popped it out and kept going.

Dana Bash--you've been served.
