Kate Moss Thought Timbuktu Was A Made-Up Place

Kate Moss Gets A Geography Lesson

Kate Moss must be well-traveled as one of the universe's top models.

However, in a recent V magazine interview, one of our favorite ladies got a little geography lesson. She played reporter, asking questions of close friend, entrepreneur David Tang.

Cue the exchange...

KM: You've been all around the world. I think the most interesting places I've ever been were with you: Bhutan, Cambodia, China. Is there anywhere you haven't been that you'd like to go to?

DT: I've always wanted to go to Timbuktu. First of all I think it is the best name of anywhere in the world.

KM: I thought it was a made-up place!

DT: No, no. It is a day's camel ride from the edge of the Sahara desert. It is actually in Mali.

KM: I'd love to come along!

DT: Yes, we shall go together. We will fly to Marrakech and spend the weekend looking at the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, sunbathing in the olive gardens. Then we drive to the western part of the Sahara desert, to Ouarzazate, the last oasis in the Sahara.

It all sounds so magical -- can we come along, too, Kate?
