Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Ascot Hat Looks Frozen Yogurt-Inspired (PHOTOS)

In our continuing coverage of what is on Queen Elizabeth II's head (see: hat-scarf combo, hairnet), we are happy to report that the pale pink confection Queen Elizabeth II wore on Wednesday at the Royal Ascot was really quite lovely.

So lovely, in fact, it looks good enough to eat. It sort of reminds us of frozen yogurt, which is making us hungry.

This is an especially lovely hat, very becoming on her and she looks to be in great spirits. I do have to ask, though, what the heck is up with all the bashing of the Queen's sartorial choices lately? She's in her mid-80's, I should think by that age she can wear whatever the heck she wants and still deserve your respect. Just sayin'.

She is a figurehead. Her subjects vote on their government just like any other democracy. Ever hear of Parliament, or the Prime Minister? She is nevertheless an older person who deserves our respect. Or haven't you experienced the depersonalization of age yet?

I do not agree.

Queen Elizabeth's hats are in the most exquisite taste. They do not overpower her. She wears *them.* She will also wear pale aqua in January when England is grey and cold.

What offends me about the Ascot coverage is that we human beings are so egotistical, an indignity has been overlooked.

Who is putting stupid hats on the thoroughbred horses?

If I may quote King John:

Love the hat.....it looks yummy...and its great on her

But....in almost every picture lately, she is carrying the same black patent leather handbag
( correct me if I'm wrong ) along with the same black pumps with the little gold buckle.

Gawd knows...I love my well worn "comfortable" shoes ( pumps, sandals...etc) but, I'd like to see her in something different.

The queen may have problems with her feet and the black pumps are probablly most
comfortable for her. The purse may be one of many that she used and lookjs similar
to other purses. Please do not be critical of the queen. Thank You.
