Our colleagues at Spinner posted an exclusive preview for "Weird Al" Yankovic's newest music video, his Lady Gaga parody "Perform This Way."
Even before the single was released, the "Born This Way" spoof attracted an unusual amount of attention. Yankovic released the single via YouTube last month, claiming that Lady Gaga forced him to record the song in its final form before she would decide whether to grant her blessing, and then apparently refused to allow the parody to be included on his next album. (Although Yankovic is protected by the First Amendment to parody artists, he typically reaches out to ensure a good relationship.) By the end of the day, however, Gaga announced that the debacle had been a misunderstanding, and allowed Yankovic to officially release the song on his next album.
Spinner will post the full video on Monday, June 20. "Alpocalypse," Yankovic's 13th studio album, will be released on Tuesday, June 21. In addition to "Perform This Way," the album will also include parodies of Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, T.I. and of course, polka.
