An elderly couple in Allentown, Pa. are currently searching for their 72nd foster child, reports WFMZ.

Since their own children decided not to have kids of their own, Thomas and Ann Rose decided to look for other children that needed loving homes. Over the past 15 years, they've been able to foster dozens of children.

The Roses are quick to encourage any who can to participate, however Thomas Rose warns prospective parents that it can be challenging.

"Part of your responsibility is to take care of them while you have them, and the giving them up part, while it is hard, it's something you have to do."

Rachel Passhaus of Salvation Army Foster Care and Adoption Program said she appreciates the couple's attitude because of the area's need.

"In the state of Pennsylvania, there's over 27,000 children in foster care, and so every day there's a need for foster families."

Having had been a foster parent in oklahoma, the kids were great it was the case worker that was crap and ended our journey with the foster care system.
We had 1 awesome case worker and one really bad one, it only takes one bad one to make you stop. Think of the bad case worker as a used car salesman, big time sales pitch, you get the kid, the kid is ok but needs lots of help, medical mental etc then the case worker sucks and doesnt do crap you are basically forgotton as is the child untill you have room for another kid. They train you to figure out the childrens needs, advocate for them and get them help then they dont do crap its like being a baby sitter and its really expensive to be a foster parent. If you treat them like you trea your other kids it costs a lot of money which is ok but when you get a bad case worker it really makes the experience suck for the foster parent and the children. Please screen your case workers properly! Then you will have an amazing experience!!! Hold our for a great case worker so whatever child you get will be ensured to get the proper care it needs outside of your home in regards to mental. physical health etc doctor appointments, relative visits etc

The Roses are a huge blessing for foster kids. It is a shame that "In the state of Pennsylvania, there's over 27,000 children in foster care,..." It is the similar everywhere, the way children are treated in an increasing number of US homes is a national sin.
