Off-Duty Cop Dressed As Clown Kills Alleged Teen Robber

CHICAGO -- An off-duty Chicago police officer dressed as a clown for a fundraiser shot and killed a teen who authorities say was trying to rob him.

Police say the officer was headed home from a children's event Friday night when the suspect approached him, asking for money.

When the officer said he didn't have any, police say the teen pulled a gun.

After a struggle, the officer grabbed the gun and fired, killing the teen.

The officer sustained minor injuries. A weapon has been recovered.

Authorities haven't released the names of those involved.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the incident.

dressed as a clown at 10pm ? and some people are asking about that?, where have you been?, Have you been to any malls lately, clowns are everywhere. not just the circus, was attending a "childrens fundraiser", that usually means adults with money to donate for Children. Obviously the criminal thought he had an easy victim. only, this victim fought back, Like has been said years ago, If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, If you're not prepared for the consequences, don't do it.

When a perpetrator decides to Rob someone utilizing a weapon, that person has decided to ignore the probabilities that someone can get either hurt or in fact die! Therefor all bets are off when the victims turn the odds against the perpetrator and injures or kills that perpetrator in self defense! what the media needs to do is broadcast incidents like this to deter others criminals from engaging in such behavior!

i met a guy once who said he was getting robbed at knife point, he had a prior record to date i assume, well he got the knife away from his atkers and stabbed either both or just one i cant recall and was later charged wtih assault in the 2nd degree with a dead weapon! so ya iam guessing same principal here accept one is a cop and anotehr an alleged crimnial now an acutal criminal
