Russell Pearce Arizona Immigration Law Recall

New York Times:

It has been a rough year for Russell Pearce, the president of the Arizona Senate, as he has sought to solidify his state’s reputation as the nation’s incubator for hard-edged conservative policies.

He has seen fellow Republicans defy him and the Republican governor issue a raft of vetoes to keep his agenda in check. Now, so many critics in his suburban district have signed a recall petition that he will have to defend himself in a special election.

No WE don't. I have lived in Arizona for over 30 years and you have no idea what you are talking about. Pearce has gotten by off the fact that he comes from a very conservative district. Unfortunately for him, that district has become less conservative and more hispanic over the past few years and he is facing a really hard recall election which he most likely cannot win.

This state senator has already proven anything he does, he does for profit. The AZ law was his brain child, reason?? He is heavily invested in the private prisons in that state. More arrests, more are shipped to these private prisons.

Republicans in Arizona are leading the RECALL from Office of Senator Russell Pearce. This recall effort was started by Republican Senators and business associations because Arizonian businesses had lost billions in tourism and trade deals due to Pearce's SB1070.

So when both the Dems and Reps want you gone, what are the chances of you winning the recall election? Zip.

"Tancredo traces his interest in politics to the eighth grade, when he played Fidel Castro in a class assignment. Tancredo urges America to reject "the siren song of multiculturalism" and depicts Islam as "a civilization bent on destroying ours." In July 2005, Tancredo proposed that America respond to any future terrorist attack by bombing Mecca and other holy sites. In September 2006, when Pope Benedict XVI gave a speech quoting a 14th century Byzantine emperor who said the prophet Mohammed had brought "things only evil and inhuman",[45] sparking Muslim anger throughout the world, Tancredo urged him not to apologize." from the NYT. Is this the political group 'Team Amercia" Bomb Mecca and other Religious Sites...I think God would offer a differing opinion...taking the life of innocents to justify WAR! Know the path you are on or support. Know the devastation that it reaps and know this is not the path to Heaven. Team America wants a Holy War...we want to bring our troops home. A vote for this man is a call to WAR!!

I support his stance on immigration issues (but nothing else that I can see) and I also want this recall election. I also have little doubt he will garner even more votes then the last election.

Once and for all it will stop the biased polls in their tracks and let the rest of the politicians know where CITIZENS of this country stand.

All anyone has to do is to look at the overwhelming numbers of posts on any story about this subject in favor of enforcement to see where people really stand on amnesty vs. enforcement. Even on this site that leans heavy to liberal issues most of the posters (who also can be seen in high numbers posting FOR liberal agendas on other subjects) understand that we can't get control over this problem if we grant any amnesty/pathway/citizenship for illegals an EIGHTH time.

I would think after 7 times even the most die hard open borders fan would understand that too and try something else but the attempts at amnesty just keep coming. Well for the first time in history we are seeing enforcement coming first - we can only hope it will last long enough to show the rest of the public how easy, cheap and fair it is to get control of this situation.

"the rest of the politicians know where CITIZENS of this country stand."? Where do they stand? For illegals flooding the country? 87% are against the dream act, that's where Americans stand. For law and order. Anything else you're fooling yourself. And i'am a democrat. Illegals should be arrested on the spot and removed from the country.

I agree.

Not sure if you misunderstood my post but I tried to state that having a recall election may well turn out good for pro enforcement people. If pearce wins again and with the high numbers I hope he gets it will shut down the misleading polls that always try to make it seem Americans are OK with another amnesty.

I'm not a dem but I am most certainly not a repub. I don't have a party that reflects my views but I have voted dem far more then repub in my normal protocol of voting for the lesser of two evils.

I want the dem party of my youth back. I was born into a union family and have been a union member for over 30 years. I'm a shop steward and have walked the picket line once for myself and once with my father. Both times were NOT for more money. So I get pretty upset when I see union leadership aligning with the chamber for amnesty and mass legal immigration. There is NO way for people of THIS country to have a good life if we continue this insane, unsustainable overpopulation ideal.

The Guv has to call the election, it could either be this November or March of 2012. Seeing that she "kissed and made up" with the GOP (AZ Republic today and link) http://networkedblogs.com/jkUh4
I'm guessing her handlers will force the March 2012 date.

While you are getting rid of him come through Atlanta and take Neil Bortz along. He is the racist right wing radio guy who wants to arm everyone and start shooting black "urban thugs". Wonder when there is going to be a push to get rid of criminal white collar whites?
