Delta is already setting up a fee for just being alive and wanting to board their death traps.

if people would stop flying for just one day- this foolishness would stop!

I have just been promised a refund from Spirit Air for a flight they changed from noon to midnight! I'll believe it when I see my next credit card statement. Did they really think that the flying public would not mind such a gross inconvenience? I changed to an American Airlines flight. Although more expensive, there will be many fewer add-on fees.

Spirit - never again.

Won't be long before the airlines start charging for the air we breathe.

P. T. Barnum stated it is morally wrong not to separate a sucker from his money. If we are willing to pay these fees, it is morally wrong for businesses not to charge them.

No charge for printing one's own boarding pass from an airport kiosk.

As long as the airport kiosk work.

Spirit is going to charge for kiosk printing starting in 2012. That is what is says on their website.

I am going to go against the grain here and say big deal. Unless you are leaving at the last minute (and by that, doing what I did a couple of years ago, saw the sign to the airport while driving on the highway and exited, bought my ticket and boarded) why wouldn't you just print up the pass when you book the flight?
02:47 PM on 06/22/2011
You can only print a boarding pass within 24 hours of a flight. Easy to to at home, not so easy for your return flight while on vacation.

Admit to being a last minute flier but then just print it up at the kiosk. Not a big deal and sure not worth griping about. I have also had my hotel print it out for me on several occasions.

... and I don't carry a printer around with me everywhere I go. I have one at home, yes, but my destination may not have one for the return flight.

They should just institute an $10 oxygen fee for the recycled air on the plane while they're at it.

How much does Spirit Air charge you to breath while on board?

Hey, how about a fee that will actually benefit the passengers?  Like, the $5 "slap the gate agent fee"?  here is still no charge for kicking one of the boarding pass kiosks.
01:43 PM on 06/22/2011
Another way for them to reduce their number of employees. The more people printing their passes at home or at the kiosk means less people needed at the counter.
