A jogger toting an iPad was mugged in Central Park Wednesday.
Two attackers jumped the 46-year-old man at 6:15 am near the park and began to punch him. He dropped his iPad and the muggers fled.
The condition of the victim is unknown.
The rise in smartphones and tablets have led to a huge increase in petty crimes. The Wall Street Journal reports that in 2011 there were 311 grand larcenies on the subway, which was a 17.% increase from the previous year. The Post reported last year that Central Park had the higher rise in crime in New York City.
Police released photos of the two suspected attackers. If you have any details on the crime the NYPD urges you to call their Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
