Three people were charged Wednesday by Denver prosecutors over allegations that they forced a 17-year-old to commit acts of prostitution.
Chester Gray, 22, Ryann Pangle, 24, and Frank Devoe, 50 were all taken into custody and appeared in court yesterday.
Gray was charged with trafficking in children, pimping of a child and procurement of a child, according to KDVR. Devoe was charged with procurement of a child and inducement of child prostitution. Pangle, the woman, was charged with second-degree kidnapping, unlawful sexual contact and third-degree assault.
The girl, legally a child under Colorado law, was forced to tattoo the pimp's name on her chest and to pose in lingerie photos for online advertisements.
A Denver Police affidavit said the girl was referred to as "the white girl" and she suffered repeated punches by her roommates while trying to escape "a forced prostitution situation."
Neighbor James Meredith says nobody suspected what was happening inside until a fight spilled into the street last week.
"I saw about four or five girls trying to bring another girl in the house," Meredith said. "And the other girl was yelling and saying she wanted to die."
The Denver District Attorney's office told KDVR Gray and Devoe coerced the girl into participating into prostitution, but when she tried to leave, Pangle assaulted her.
