If you were here - by Jen Lancaster It is about a woman who writes amish zombie novels that buys the house from seventeen candles in chicago and tries to fix it up. Her and her husband thought it would be easy because they watch hdtv all the time. All the references to the breakfast club and some kind of wonderful and the thompson twins were awesome.
I wish I could shake this woman's hand and say good job! keep writing. She writes stuff geared to woman, but men would probably like it as well.

The late lamented molly marx. ( she's dead and not sure how it happened and pretty ticked she is dead at thirty five. First it was so cliche and the wealthy whiny character annoyed me. But in the middle of the book, It got pretty fabulous. It raised a lot of questions about why we do what we do. And I learned alot about being Jewish that I didn't know.

remarkable creatures by tracy chevalier. painfully slow at the start but so worth the read. It is about two women in regency england that hunt for fossils on the beaches of Lyme - Regis. One is somewhat rich very educated and having a hard time dealing with ravages of age. The other is a young girl trying to eat and stay out of debtor's prison.

There are some on that list I've read and some which look intriguing. Am definitely interested in Ann Patchett and Erik Larsen's new books. Need to check out some reviews, it look's like. I'm coming to the end of my current book.

Been digging back into the past a bit with Warren's "All The King's Men", and Le Carre's "The Spy Who Came in From the Cold". Both were very good. Great writing by Warren.

I recently finished "Agincourt" and the entire Cornwell "Sharpe" series, Conroy's "Beach Music", Lucy Christopher's "Stolen", Stockett's "The Help", The Stieg Larsson trilogy, and Zusak's "The Book Thief".
For a bit lighter fare, I've been loving Alan Bradley's Flavia DeLuce series, Mary Roach's "Packing for Mars", and George R.R. Martin's "Fire and Ice" series.

All of these, especially Verghese's "Cutting for Stone", are recommended.

Books are are as bad as yarn; I always have too many sitting around waiting to be read, and new ones just keep coming out.

Word of warning: The Tom Clancy book is NOT written by Tom Clancy and it is obvious from the beginning that he only loaned his name to it. Story isn't even good.

I'm reading Eric Larson's new book "In the Garden of Beasts" about the American Ambassador and his family in Nazi Germany pre-WWII. It is riveting and surreal. Larson's research is impeccable!
