BET Awards 2011: Who Was Best-Dressed? (PHOTOS, POLL)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 06/27/2011 8:42 am   Updated: 08/27/2011 5:12 am

Rappers and songstresses alike hit the 2011 BET Awards in L.A. on Sunday night.

Scoring high style marks: Kerry Washington in fluorescent Michael Kors, Alicia Keys' take on menswear, Patti LaBelle in a long navy coat and matching sheath and Mary J. Blige, who apparently looks amazing in anything she puts on these days. And kitch points go to 10-year-old Willow Smith for wearing a t-shirt with her dad as the Fresh Prince printed on it.

As for the sartorial misses, we won't name names. But let's just say, it's time to reassess your two-toned hairdo and/or boxy suit straight out of "Stop Making Sense."

Take a look and tell us who was best-dressed at the BET Awards.

Regarding the WalMart customer - first - I would not want to see this body dressed like this ANYWHERE - but especially in a store where I would be shopping with my grandchildren. If she's at a pool party or at the beach and decides to run into a shop along the beach, that's one thing. But, showing up like that at a family store is just beyond ridiculous. And, before anyone asks - NO it would not make a difference if she was a gorgeous 22 year old. She's bringing very negative attention to herself and her mode of dress was simply INAPPROPRIATE IN THIS SETTING. I would have immediately removed my 10 yr old grandson from anywhere near her. As long as the store was not rude to her, I feel they had every right to insist that she cover up or leave. We have to draw the line somewhere - what if she had only been wearing the bikini bottom with the nearly non-existant top??

Ashanti, Kelly Rowland, Miss Teen USA, Patti (as always) and Mary J (in the second outfit) look great.

I love Gladys (one of the best singers....ever), but what was she thinking?

I love it when people claim others are racist, but then counterattack with racist remarks! How can you call someone racist and then counter attack and say white people this and white people that! or vice versa. This is funny, because most comments are hypocritical. geez.... I am a hispanic woman and have friends of all races and sometimes find that I have had some thoughts thay might seem racist, but I never act on them or try and put others down. I think everyone has had a little "racist" thought or has stereotyped in some way. Some of the people that commented have a lot of racist in them and are ready to attack. All I am saying is that this is just an Awards show and everyone needs to relax. Black or white....who cares...every race has some trash within their own people....trust me.

With the exception of Alicia Keys, all of the female artists look like drag queens...too much weave, make-up and wearing clothes 2 sizes too small. Yuck!!

Two things:

1. Only Patti Labelle and Taraji P. Henson are dressed well. Everyone else look like pole dancers or street walkers.

2. What the 'f' is Justin Bieber doing there?

Just saying.....

Why are people who are performing even in this? They are wearing costumes. Most of the carpet walkers were train wrecks. I liked Kelly Rowland's dress, but not her shoes. Pattie LaBelle is a runner-up.
