Charlie Sheen's New Show: Lionsgate Signs Ex-'Two And A Half Men' Star To TV Deal: Report

Charlie Sheen Not Dead

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly is reporting that it doesn't appear that a deal has been signed yet between Sheen and Lionsgate, and that TBS, one of the networks mentioned to be in talks to carry the program, have denied any involvement

Looks like Charlie Sheen really is #winning.

The former "Two and a Half Men" star, who was booted from the show after a series of insane rants that included digs at executive producer Chuck Lorre, has signed a potentially lucrative deal with Lionsgate Television to create a new show that will air on a cable network, Radar Online reports. A number of nets are currently bidding on the show now, Radar relays.

"Charlie has inked a deal with Lionsgate Television to create and star in a new sitcom," a source told the website. "Charlie's character will be very similar to the one he played on 'Two And a Half Men,' however the show will be a lot racier.

That makes sense, given Sheen's move toward pure raunch (see: Goddesses, drugs) and the popularity of his "Two and a Half Men" character, Charlie Harper. The show was consistently atop the ratings; whether that will continue with Sheen's replacement, Ashton Kutcher, remains to be seen.

Sheen made $2 million or more per episode of "Men," but won't make that kind of cash per episode of this new show. That being said, he has a chance to make a lot more, as he will be one of the creators.

Radar reports that Lionsgate has agreed to produce ten episodes, with a look to option 90 more if ratings are high. Given the curiosity of viewers, there's a good chance that at least the first few episodes will do well. And, of course, don't lead to bomb threats.

This is great news for Sheen, especially following his breakup with his last Goddess, Natalie Kenly.

I think Charlie thinks he is going to be the only one to cheat death at an early age.
That no matter what chemicals he indulges in he continues to function.
He reminds me a lot of Tiger Woods. On top of the world until rehab changed him forever.
Home rehab for Charlie? Are you kidding me? Every addict in the world wishes they can clean themselves up on their own. Just doesn't happen. You can't tough love yourself.

I laugh everytime i see someone mention how hes a bad role model. For all those families viewing two and half men that think this, you were watching a show about him drinking, partying, and having casual sex daily.. maybe not the best show to watch for a role model. lol

Nobody should hire this jerk ever again. He has plenty of money to last him the rest of his life; that is if he maybe cuts back on his drug use. He is a horrible example to young people who will be his main followers.

As long as society keeps rewarding outrageous behaviors like Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan with millions of dollars, they will continued to be out of control and other wannabes will take them as roll models and follow suit. Face it, MONEY is the one true power that everyone worships. That's why I never watch or buy anything that any of these wacko is on or endorsed. There are plenty of good and talented people. Why not give them a chance? It is sickening to think that anyone, much less Liongate and TBS, would even talk to him about a show much less paying him. I have to go throw up now.

Reality show? He's already a caricature of himself. Someone (including him if he owns a piece of the show) might just be trying to cash in as he totally self destructs. Operate without a net, run the show live, and television viewers have a real morbid chance to see someone actually check out...

I have lost more than a few friends to substance abuse related deaths and it is never easy, pretty, or peaceful. Each loss is with the the pain of knowing it was so unnecessary. All the feelings of rage, bewilderment, and anger are shared by every life this story touches, that is the true legacy of this sick behaivior. It is like watching a train wreck in slow motion, compelling but still awful.

I am currently watching my grandson throw his life away and can't help wonder how different things might have been had his father taken an interest in him from the day of his birth. He never did.

My father never took and interest in me. Niether did my first or second step fathers. And I have not thrown my life away. So take heart, this doesn't neccessarily have any effect on a child. In fact, it can teach a child responsibility and self suffficiency. When you're a young person you can clearly see which of your cohorts is screwing up their lives. Life is a choice between good and evil and your parent can't force you to choose good. Suggest, yes, but force will not work.

What could they be thinking signing Charlie.......MONEY?

We have slipped to a new LOW with television. Bad enough that we have the reality shows. Two and a Half Men fell out of our viewing several years ago...do not need that type of show and we are not prudes. Think we will stick with Stuff like Law & Order, Medium, etc....Oh, those shows have been dropped. PBS is still around isn't it or did the Republicans get that?

That show is about the writing. Coulda been almost anyone delivering the lines.

Hold on to that thought until we see if the new guy makes it a hit. My guess....it falls flat on its face. The writing was good but Charlie made the show. They'll run 10 episodes with Demi's baby boy doing the lines and then it will tank.

It's too late...as I shall never watch him again. He has convinced me that there's not enough room on the TV screen for both his image & his ego!

Let me guess. He's going to play a unbalanced drunk who likes to think he can still wow the ladies at 45. Gee, what an acting stretch. They had better write a future script where the star OD's. They'll probably need it to bring a close to the program.
