Funniest Michele Bachmann Presidential Campaign Announcement Tweets So Far (SLIDESHOW)

First Posted: 06/27/11 01:40 PM ET   Updated: 08/27/11 06:12 AM ET

Michele Bachmann gave everyone on the left, and everyone on the right who actually wants to defeat Obama in 2012, a serious case of the Mondays with her announcement that she is indeed running for president. And as with any big news event, Twitter was the place to be during the announcement for all your snark-related needs.

Below are some of our favorite Bachmann-announcement tweets so far. We're sure this is just the beginning of a storied satirical chapter in American humor. Fellow fools for Christ: saddle up!

Well, at least as long as she is running, it guarantees Saturday Night Live a few more years1

Can someone explain this one to me?

"Allow me to be the 4,000th person to publicly request that Michele Bachmann finds a running mate with the last name "Turner.""

A rock band from the 1960's/70's was called Bachman-Turner-Overdrive.

haha apparently comments that express opposing viewpoints don't get "approved" on this forum. . .figures! as i said in my post that didn't get approved, i LOVE how uncomfortable strong female conservatives make liberals.

She's strongly kooky...if that's what you mean. I'm married to a strong female conservative (and I'm liberal), and while I am occasionally scared of her, I am generally and usually comfortable with her.

i suppose i just don't really see how she is so "kooky." even apart from bachmann, female conservatives in general seem to be SO passionately hated by the liberal media. it's very interesting to me.

No, what's "uncomfortable" to liberals is that Michele Bachmann is a "strong female" conservative, in your book. That's a pretty low bar you've set for yourselves, there.

All those voices telling her new and creative versions of History. Can you imagine her with all those kids at her house, helping with their homework? I don't want her "helping" with Government or anything. She might be good at making twin size beds up in the morning.

There's nothing funny about Michelle Bachmann.

And it's ironic that she hasn't earned a single dollar in her adult life, outside of government handouts. And this is the ostensible leader of the Tea Party?

Rolling Stone article is great. Matt usually does a good job humorously listing various factoids about his subject. He's the one of the reasons I keep the subscription going. The story was made complete with the artists rendition of Bachmann.

It doesn't count as government spending if it benefits the tea party and their gang of "free" motorized scooter riders. After all they only need funding for the really important stuff right?

Did you ever, in your wildest imagination, think someone who was a paranoid delusional, religious heretic would be considered a serious presidential candidate? Only in Republicanland.

Nixon was a liberal compared to Obama, and compared to Bachmann, he's Mother Theresa. The crimes he committed were peanuts compared to the last several presidents, all of which have been completely shameless in their policies and conduct.

Nixon wasn't into religion. He's the one who came up with the Southern Strategy to lure these lo0nies that are now the base of the Republican Party. And he was paranoid, hence the tapes that hung him.
