NBC San Diego:

Willie Mays may be forever enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame, but as the new face of Encinitas, California's new “Save the Ocean” campaign, he didn’t last long.

An unknown artist recently spray-painted the baseball legend’s face on the same wall that once hosted the Surfing Madonna, a popular mosaic that attracted controversy when a man in nearby Leucadia mysteriously placed it on public property in April.

It's important , idiot, becuase no one knows the quality of the water along Californias Beaches better than the Surfers, and if you had bothered to read the story which you didn't, because like most ignorant morons who think you have something to say but you never have anything remotely important to contribute to any conversation because you never read anything at all and have the attention span of a common housefly, you would have read that the first picture used by the group trying to stop the outright destruction of our oceans through pollution by giant American Corporaton who care only about making money and don't give a damn about what they do to our enviroment or the people that have to live in it, was a picture of the Madonna using the same caption. This of course sparked all inds of controversey because it was painted on public property, I am making a huge jump by assuming you even know what the Madonna is of course. So the group next tried using baseball legend Willie Mays figuring no one would complain, because he was what Americans value far more than a Religious Icon, a sports icon, they were wrong!

Why is this even remotely important? A random wall somewhere got spray painted and this is news how?
