Colbert: New York Gay Marriage Part Of The 'Cuomo-Sexual' Agenda (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/28/11 05:13 PM ET Updated: 08/28/11 06:12 AM ET

Stephen Colbert wasn't surprised by New York Governor Cuomo signing the recently passed gay marriage bill, as the "Report" host has long been on to the Cuomo-Sexual agenda.

Of course, by now we all know that gay marriage is just gateway legislation for inter-species marriage; you let same sex partners marry, and pretty soon people will start marrying anything, just like Bill O'Reilly says.

But in a stunning turn, Colbert took to the air on Monday to share a very personal story about an uncle, a dolphin, and a love that never saw the light of day. While you may not support the lifestyle, you can't help but be touched by this tale of two mammals trying to make their way in this crazy world together.

So while gay marriage may still weird you out, back off the dolphins.

I think we should push to rid marriage benefits instead of instituting it further.

Find some other occasion than the fight for civil equality of an oppressed minority to work on that, how bout? How about everyone gets on equal footing as human beings and *then* try to sell that idea, ..Cause let me tell you, the practicalities are more involved than handwavey 'Just abolish it all, if the gays want it' answers.

You're a bit too obtuse with your superfluous punctuations and superficial contractions. But I think I understand what you're trying to say. In either case, I'm not saying this because gays are pushing for it -- I'm one by the way -- I just believe marriage doesn't fit the contemporary idea of love or commitment anymore.

And there's a bit about polyamorous and pedophilic groups I want to make an allusion to but I won't do it right now.

i really could care less who marries who, they made the same argument for inter racial marriages.it really is NONE of their business,i thought they were for less gvt intrusion, the fact is they want to DECIDE how the gvt intrudes in your life.
i will point out that they supported a president who used ILLEGAL wiretaps, tortured got us into iraq with lies, had illegal prisons.funny how the we are a nation of laws sort of vanished from their speeches with bush as president.

It is becoming increasingly obvious the only way to "debate" a good bit of the new conservative "thinking" is by lampooning it. That explains why the only people really getting traction talking to conservatives are comedians. If I were a conservative that would bother me.

I can't wait to marry my cat. Now that gay marraige is legal in NY and he is gay, do we have to wait till interspecies marraige is legal?

Nobody in "Brokeback Mountain" got it on with a cat; that seems to be more a preoccupation with straight homophobes.

Good-looking humans in that movie, though.

It's nice to see that the "right" hasn't seemed to be able to change it's convoluted thinking. Remember when they attacked the ERA with the argument that giving women equal rights meant that men would have to share their urinals?
Really, O'Reilly? Dolphins?

O'Reilly should kick his own butt for the way he spoke. This is 2011, who really gives a flying hoot about same sex marriage. It doesn't matter. I understand the church cares, because they preach one way, and might loose some business, which in all honesty is fine with me. Olberman hit the nail on the head about the same sex marriage, and Colbert is just one funny dude.

Sadly, many of O'Reilly's viewers probably sat there, mindlessly nodding their heads in agreement at the fatuous "slippery slope" argument, an argument so ludicrous in its premise that it's incredible anyone would consider giving it even a moment of air time. THIS is the argument AGAINST passing a marriage equality act? Really?
01:48 PM on 06/29/2011
Does it surprise you the conservative right...better yet the conservative fringe ( I won't say that all conservatives are as obtuse as O'Reilly...obviously they all aren't) is taking this ludicris slippery slope position? It's sad only because you know there are people out there who really think his point is valid....for the rest of us....we just stare at them in complete disbelief. Poor things can't see their nose to save their face!
