latimes.com:

Some children lead extraordinary lives because of their great intellectual gifts or performance in the face of adversity. Helen Keller and Anne Frank come to mind. Other children linger in our collective consciousness because of their ability to leverage charisma. Shirley Temple, for example, or Michael Jackson (circa 1971).

Thank you LATimes for writing what I thought. How can a 20 yr old girl write a book about her life when SHE hasn't done anything except ride the coattails of her mother. I had a hard time, as a mother, in respecting Sarah Palin. She knew that her teenage daughter was pregnant prior to accepting the V.P. pick. She MUST have known the consequences, that her daughter would be placed on the spot light. As a mother, I couldn't imagine placing my children in that position, unless I was selfish. I feel sorry for Bristol (not just because her name is from a location), because her mother pick personal ambition over her children. Then Sarah Palin rationalize her selfishness with ignorance by placing blame on everyone else, except herself. Bristol has an excuse, she is young. What is her parent's excuse? Money........

Now Bristol is following in her mother’s footsteps by prostituting herself for fame. She doesn’t even realize how harmful her book could be to her son. Too bad your mother didn’t teach you intellect or appreciation for education. Sarah is teaching her children to point blame at others, sell yourself for money, and it is okay to be bitter and resentful of others. These are TRUE character flaws. As an independent voter, I could never vote for someone who prostitutes themselves for fame. It makes me wonder if they would prostitute the nation for personal gain.

She was a beautiful girl before she had that procedure on her face; it's like looking at another person; I can't get over how a chin implant makes a person look so different.

I'm in favor of her past face, but I wish her well, as I do all of you.

I remember the days when someone actually had to read and write intelligently to get a book published. The sad thing is she'll make a fortune selling that drivel.

You are correct. I just read that she only sold 1000 books the first week. I hope this is a sign of celebrity memoir fatique.

Lesson 1 -- choose a good ghost writer.
Lesson 2 -- since you probably won't read your autobiography, make sure you have a sit down with the ghost writer and learn a little about what's in your book.
Lesson 3 - when criticized, never forget you're a Palin... and blame someone else.
