Twitter, together with the White House, announced Thursday morning that President Obama will be hosting a town hall meeting on Twitter.
The town hall, the first of its kind and a major win for Twitter, will take place on Wednesday, July 6th at 2 PM ET. President Obama will be answering questions related to the economy and jobs via live webcast, according to a tweet from the White House.
This marks the latest in a series of town hall meetings held by the White House that use social media as a platform for a Q & A with the President. Most recently, Obama held town halls that were hosted by and broadcasted on Facebook and YouTube, with questions solicited from the sites' users.
Earlier this month, Barack Obama vowed to begin to tweet personally leading up to the 2012 Presidential Election. You can follow Barack Obama on Twitter at @BarackObama, where he'll be marking tweets he sent himself with the signature "- BO".
