Ford's U.S. Sales Rise 10.4 Percent In June Thanks To New Products

DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. says its U.S. sales rose 10.4 percent in June thanks to new products like the Fiesta subcompact and revamped Explorer SUV.

Explorer sales more than doubled over last June, while sales of the Fiesta more than quadrupled. Focus small car sales were up 41 percent.

The F-Series pickup remained Ford's best-selling vehicle, with sales up 7 percent from a year ago.

Falling gas prices and increased deals brought more buyers into showrooms in June. Edmunds.com estimated that Ford spent $2,745 per vehicle on incentives in June, or 11 percent more than in May.

But Ford might have seen stronger sales if it had more small cars in stock. Ford U.S. sales analyst George Pipas says some Focus sedans are selling within hours of arriving at dealerships.

That's an amazing news! I love ford cars. Ford Fiesta always offers a great design and innovative features in their cars. I must say Ford fiesta is very affordable and performs well on Indian roads.

Ford has been moving to make their whole fleet more energy efficient and it is paying off.

They have quite a few high mileage vehicles and will be bringing out more electric and hybrid vehicles.

As the price of oil continues to rise fuel efficiency will be more important to buyers.

40 MPG is better than 20 MPG.

Always been a FORD guy.............Might look at the VOLT or something similar to help with the bailout.

Henry Ford always wanted his cars to be affordable to his workers.........conservatives like that are nearly non existent now days.

I love FORD products.

But I'll be buying a Chrysler or GM car just to show my support for

the bailout.

I own 2 Fords and a Hyundai - I will never, ever even think about buying a GM or Chrysler.

The way I see it they already ripped me off, so why would I let them have any more of my money.

GM would rather we pay more at the pump than to meet any government fuel mileage regulations.

GM has an ongoing problem in that a little over 30% of former GM vehicle owners have said that they will not purchase another GM vehicle until the Government is completely out of the business.

Heard that on AutoLine Detroit just a few weeks ago.

True...I own two Chevys now....will NEVER buy another GM product until ALL the money that went in from the gov is paid back. I would dearly love a new GMC truck, but I'm sticking to my guns this time.

What I wonder is in the past did the oil co and the car co and the government
Have a pack
Where the car co did not make cars get higher mileage so the revenue for the
Government was maintained and the oil co had very nice profits
And when all of this bail out stuff was going on and the auto co almost went under
And when that happened all bets were off and GM and now FORD is ramping up
The production of EV’s and high mileage cars. That will in time reduce the revenue
For oil and the Fed.
Just something I pondered

YAY! Family owned, long view, no bailout, on-shoring jobs from other countries. GO FORD. SHOW the short view, greedy, vampire squid bunch that planning, US ingenuity and US innovation will overcome avaricious shareholders every time. GM = Government Motors. Family owned companies are going to save this country from the Global dealers of death known as Privatized Central Banking. I'm buying their stock & their products. Next time some corporate LIAR tells you they can't compete without offshoring jobs and siphoning off profits and making the cheapest overpriced crap possible, show them your gains on Ford stock.

Remember when the conventional wisdom among conservatives was to let the auto companies fail and they wonder why I don't take them seriously.

The cash for clunkers program was clearly an indirect bailout.

Neither party would have let these companies fail. Your point is senseless. If either company went under, unemployment would hit 25-30%, which would be political suicide. You need to check your facts. Neither side wants these comp to go under..neither one.
