Animal Photos Of The Week

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 07/03/11 11:47 AM ET   Updated: 09/02/11 06:12 AM ET

The end of June saw more than its fair share of adorable animals. Babies were spotted across the globe -- jaguar cubs played in Peru, a baby lynx cuddled with its mother, and red kites were born in France.

There was good news for animals this week as dolphins were saved with the help of Facebook and a federal judge agreed that global warming threatens polar bears.

Which animal pic is your favorite?

Especially the creepy pokey kite babies! Nothing says luxury like naked bird feathers.

Actually, thinking back, I've seen it intensely green like that way back. Now that Earth is cooking to death, perhaps it's simply acting in accord with reptilian return round we go.

Get the feeling a zoo is the only place these animals are going to be safe from now on? It seems like we're building an ark

Thanks for reminding me of that blog, I've been there before and love those photos.  The bears standing on the tourist bridge waiting for salmon - priceless!

You know, it would be interesting to learn what species of endangered ducklings those were. I'm a birdwatcher, but I can't identify various ducks when they are fuzzballs!

Also baby birds of prey are pretty darned ugly as hatchlings!

Always love the animal slide show every week....reminds us all of the extraordinary natural beauty of this planet. Let's be good stewards to these creatures and protect their environment (and ours too).

Give up the ideological bent, and just enjoy the images of these wonderful creatures.....they have no political affiliation.
And a happy 4th to you.

It so happens that my cousin's wife (who is as liberal as they come) works at the San Diego zoo helping to keep various endangered animals alive, happy, and reproducing. So quit with the baka political bent, and just be an American who appreciates all Americans (it's a Christian thing to do, ya know) on this Fourth, okay?
