Osbourne Estate For $12.99 Million

Osbourne Hidden Hills

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 07/06/11 03:50 PM ET Updated: 09/05/11 06:12 AM ET

The real-estate-loving Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have listed their Cape Cod-inspired mansion for $12.99 million.

Located in the celeb-heavy enclave of Hidden Hills, this six bedroom, ten bathroom home was featured in the June 2011 issue of Architectural Digest.

Designed by Martyn Lawrence-Bullard of Bravo's Million Dollar Decorator, the home features less goth-like elements than one might imagine. In fact, it seems almost like a doll house, with gilded mirrors and a sprawling 2.25 acre lawn. Bullard, a friend of Sharon's, has worked with her before -- most notably on her Sierra Towers pied-à-terre which he designed on the season premiere of the Bravo series.

The 11,000 square-foot home is accompanied by a guest house. It also includes a pool, a gym and a library. It's only 15 miles away from the Osbournes' Malibu home, which they just sold. Perhaps between Ozzy's European tour and Sharon's stints on The Talk and America's Got Talent, they're making enough money for an upgrade.

It's fascinating how so many celebrity houses don't reflect the personality of the owners, but instead an image their decorators have concocted up with them. There isn't a personal touch in any room that would suggest who the owners really are. Furthermore, it doesn't look as if any people actually live there - let alone a rock and roll legend. It looks more as if it were a Martha Stewart designed residence for the generic multi-millionaire. Maybe the Osborne's have another house that they relax in. I'm guessing that if you're a guest you'd be asked to bring your own dust buster.

A bit too pina colada for me. Isn't it funny how other people's homes just don't appeal the way one's own home does? I like my humble apartment better than their mansion. There's no place like home!

Your feelings are as they should be and without taking anything away from that...this is still a beautiful home. I love it.

I can agree with some about the "overstuffed furniture"... not my favorite. That said however, I absolutely love the dining room and the master bedroom (with the whimsical and airy tree murals and mirrored bed), as well as the master bath. The entry is great too with that sweeping circular staircase.

In general I also happen to love Martin Lawrence-Bullard. I loved the work he did for Tamara Mellon (Chief creative office and co-founder of Jimmy Choo) that has been featured in Elle decor twice. http://lookbook.elledecor.com/Bedroom-Contemporary-Eclectic-/id4002

Sorry, but I think some of you are confusing "taste" with boring and simply lack the imagination to appreciate something you are unfamiliar with. Just because I might not choose a particular sofa or color doesn't mean I can't appreciate someone Else's creative expression.

How rude are all of these comments. Wow...maybe some people should take some lessons in manners. Is it really that serious?

I wonder if you can ever get rid of pet odors? I remember watching their reality show and their pets were not house trained.

Looks like the Housewives of New Jersey moved into Kensington Palace and threw up Shabby Chic all over a flea market.

Too much gold and stuff everywhere. I liked only the kitchen.

The house itself is gorgeous and airy. The decor is garish, ostentatious and completely without continuity...nothing flows. It's like someone rich took everything no longer wanted and tossed it in this house.

faved, what can one expect from Ozzy and Sharron?

Actually no, "maximalism" is back in a BIG way. It is you who is out of touch with what is in or "out". That said, I'm not the biggest fan of "overstuffed furniture" but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the overall artistic vision and whimsical expression that went into this home. Martin Lawrence-Bullard also happens to be one of the hottest and most sought after designers right "now"

Not my style, but very nice. The foyer with sweeping black staircase and windows is quite impressive. My least favorite image is the front of the house.

Overstuffed, cluttered, claustrophobic.

Outside is lovely.

Too ornate, it's not Osborne even though they own it. It must be just a trophy to them.
