Sony's PlayStation Network went down briefly on Tuesday, but it was apparently just for maintenance.
According to PlayStation Universe, the work was conducted between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. PT (8 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET).
"Sony hasn't warned users about this scheduled maintenance; probably because it'll only last for an hour or so," PU wrote at the time, adding, "[I]t seems that they have this under control. Keep Calm and Carry On."
The downtime affected the PlayStation Store, Network and online games.
Sony is reportedly testing a redesign to the PSN that will feature a more streamlined user interface, among other changes.
