If human beings are fundamentally good, no government is necessary; if they are fundamentally bad, any government, being composed of human beings, would be bad also.

Ohio claims they are due a president as they haven't had one since Taft. Look at the United States, they have not had one since Lincoln.

When Herbert Hoover asked the reporter, "What could be worse than not balancing the budget?"
the reporter replied, "How about a revolution?"
I understand that Social Security has nothing to do with the budget and the current deficit.
The Caver in chief is not listening to the people, he is only listening to what the Repuglicans want. There was a good reason why we had Glass-Steagall and all the rest of the New Deal. How about the WPA? The Caver in Chief is a loyal and dedicated Goldman Sachs man, and is only going to do what they and the Koch Brothers want him to do.
So yeah, I do think he wants to be Herbert Hoover, and maybe he needs to hear the same question.

Lets get real here. No real Democrat would offer up cuts to Social Security (which has NOTHING to do with the deficit) and Medicare. Obama either thinks his base is completely oblivious to his betrayals or he really is a Rove plant and doesn't care who wins the next election. Thats our only options...either he is utterly detached from reality..or a plant. There is no other explanation for a move guaranteed to make him a one-termer IF he goes through with it....Its GB "read my lips" all over again.

With Obama planning to gut Social Security and Medicare, we should plan to deny him a second term, by replacing him with a primary challenger. To put it simply, this move would guarantee that he's unelectable (no base support = unelectable). If he does this our ONLY OPTION is to push a primary challenger otherwise the republicans will happily remind voters he gutted SS and Medicare at every chance and sweep the floor with him.

I agree with one 100%...Obama has betrayed us one too many times....He is to weak to deal with the Republicans.

He sold out on us when he voted to extend tax cuts for the wealthy...and when he opted out of the public option during health care reform, and when he supported the "too big to fail" banking reform, and on and on....he betrayed us and we should not give him a second term. We need another Dem challenger.

Social Security cuts are not the end of the world. Sure, they are not much, and cutting them will hurt a lot of people, but not everyone who gets it needs it. That's why we need means testing for social security and medicare. We've already decided no one has to pay social security tax on income over a hundred grand, so there's means testing going on right now that enables those making a lot of money to avoid paying for the social safety net that was put in place to eliminate the need for costly government poor houses. Their means allow them to test out of paying the full percentage of their income like everyone else has to.

More people should understand this form of class warfare. This is a very fair tax rate, they'll tell you. It doesn't seem like it to me, but who am I.

If the President relents and gives in to the Republicans of the Wealthy Elite, we the People should deny him a second term and vote in anybody other than a Republican!

Oh, you should have to pay into it. It's like insurance, or should be seen that way. You pay even if you're not sick, and in this case, you might be sickenly rich.

Poor Obama has spent all the money in his piggy bank. Now all he can do is go back to isolate & demonize his opponents, secretive, devious, behind-closed-doors (untelevised on CSPAN) shenanigans to further screw up the future of this country. His future has a number on it as in: 2 more years then November, 2012, will finish the shallacking last November started.
