Lemonade Stand Robbed

07/ 7/11 08:22 AM ET   AP

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- Children selling lemonade in the Cleveland suburbs have told police they were robbed by teenagers who pulled up in a rusty old car and threatened to beat them up.

Eleven-year-old Omar Schpeb says he and his friends got scared and handed over their money. But he tells WJW-TV he chased the car as it drove away and the teens tossed back some of the cash.

The kids estimate they lost at least $13.50 to the thieves, described as two guys wearing blue hoodies and skinny jeans and three teenage girls.

Parents of the children say a kind person donated $20 at the police station in Strongsville to make up for the theft.

Police are asking for tips to track down the teens.

Give the parents five-to-ten minutes alone with these punks...and have a couple of ambulances on standby for the "afterwards!"

Sad, but not really new. This sounds like a bunch of thrill seeking teens who have nothing better to do and haven't learned the leason of respect and right/wrong. If they catch the boys, maybe their community sentence should be a "typical" work week (5 days, 8 hours) of helping to pick lemons or similar produce in their area. I know the idea is kind of weird but maybe it will make an impression, its not like the courts or parents are going to do anything.

I recall reading the pastime of early New York youth
was to run a steam launch they'd pirated up the
Hudson River and look for likely unoccupied farms
to plunder. They'd butcher livestock for a nightly
feast. These children could be lethal if angered.

Soul-less B*stards... I hope those jerks get their just desserts. Kudos to the kind stranger though and I hope those kids don't lose heart in light of what happened.

The cool thing about this article is that these kids were little entrepreneurs and I'm guessing they are going to go alot further in life than their robbing counterparts. Good job kids!

Must be those teens were only given a fifty by their parents instead of the usual hundred. Of course, when they finally get caught the parents will say they always know where their teens are and what they are doing and their teens did not rob these little kids because they said they didn't and they never lie. Did I cover it all?

Rest assured these teen's parents have no idea where their kids are or what they're doing. If they're caught, the parents will deny deny deny that their little precious committed any crime. That's how bullies work.

I'm glad a donation made up for the theft, but these kids will never have a lemonade stand again. Their joy has been stolen along with their money.

This nation is crumbling. Crime is taking over our lives. Young people are dropping out of school and refusing to work for their own income and demanding that we shell out millions to support them. Many of them are not college material. They need jobs in manufacturing and construction which are being sent overseas out of greed. Our children have no future; the american dream is gone. We may never get it back. The communists sit back and say you see what we are talking about? capitolism is in shambles because of greed.
