Syria's Secret Doctors: Underground Medical Team Risks Lives To Treat Demonstrators (GRAPHIC VIDEO)

Syria Doctor

A network of Syrian medical workers calling themselves the "Damascus doctors" has been operating in secret locations to treat injured demonstrators.

As CNN is reporting, the secret field hospital is nothing more than a tiny room, and the equipment and supplies are basic at best. But as the clandestine group's founder explains, most demonstrators are afraid to go to government hospitals if they are injured. "They refuse to the government hospitals because they will be arrested," says the founder, whose identity has been withheld at his request. "And if they died, we can't take their body."

The "Damascus Doctors" say their intent is not only to treat the wounded, but also to catalog the Syrian regime's crimes. The professionals say they work not only in secret but also in constant fear for their own safety. "Every time when I leave home, I say goodbye to my mother...sometimes I feel I won't be able to come back and see her again," notes the founder.

Funny how the head of the hospital says that the fears are unfounded, that they can come there. If that were true, then why are the doctors who are helping these people not taking them to the hospitals? Methinks me smells a skunk, and it's not the doctors that are helping the people on the streets.

Another asinine piece of Goebbels propaganda from US psy ops. Just look at Bahrain where US supports a local dictator who can only stay in power thanks to foreign occupants from SA. Protesters are imprisoned and convicted to life in prison. Doctors who treated the wounded are arrested. Hypocrisy rules.

This shouldn't be 'news' - broadcasting it is the sure-fire way to ensure it's taken out of commission.

"We are suffering for our freedom". He said. People who are somehow supporting Assad on the HufPost don’t even understand what does it means to live without freedom?

That's a shame. caring for the sick is a noble endeavour that should not be politicized.

Agreed. If they setup a Facebook page of all things I'm sure these doctors wont be to hard to track down. Crazy thing about CNN reporters is they never ask what the person was doing to be shot in the first place. And then they add those classic words of Freedom more like Free-Doom they are asking the West for.

No one's going to war for the Syrians. Don't worry. They're pretty much on their own. NATO's in Libya only because Europe is afraid of flotillas of refugees reaching its shores. No chance that's going to happen with Syria. The most international intervention that will happen is covert "Turkish action if too many refugees start putting a drain on Turkish resources or if incidents in the Kurdish region of Syria inflame the Kurdish areas of Turkey.

"if incidents in the Kurdish region of Syria inflame the Kurdish areas of Turkey.”

More ignorance from the cheap seats.
