I love the Dalai Lama's new cap!

That aside, I love this beautiful man who has given so much to mankind and just keeps giving. I hope everyone, that wants to, is able to attend one of his speeches. He just moves people just to be in his presence.

Did someone ask him, as he's a man of "peace" and all, why he supports India's nuclear weapons program?

What's he doing with a baseball cap on?

Who does he want to be, the Dalai Lama or Yogi Berra?

He wears it to block the light. I have seen him also wear it indoors when he is under a lot of stage lights.

its great that the Dalai lama talks about world peace and all but this is just another religion worshiping more religious-based gods and goddesses. Every religion has a their own god they claim is the savior of all.
Religion has never created world peace and it never will.
Time to go beyond all these human-based spiritual idols.

Buddhist do not claim a savior. They believe the only person that can save you is yourself.

so how does this person 'save' themselves without the teachings of buddism?
Are you the enlightened one that spreads the word to 'save' your brothers and sisters from the cycle of suffering and re-birth?
If not who is that person?

What's up with the headgear? Did the Lama get a part-time gig at McDonalds or something?

it's totally hilarious, when you see him live he laughs about it, and tells you, don't mind my hat, it's to block out the light...haha.

the guy that loves george bush jr and supports the war in iraq speaks on peace.

you have got to love religion a most interesting aspect of the human mentality.

in any sane society george bush jr and cheney would be considered war criminals.

our imperialism shows that we did not arrest both of them for war criminals.

I hope that before he dies he leaves a tip or a clue about the location of his next incarnation. He should make it easier for us to find him.

Highly regarded Lamas will select a Panchen Lama with instructions on finding the next Dalai Lama...HH already chose someone for that task and he is currently missing and has been for several years. No one knows where he is or his family. It has all become very political.

Why are you so criticle. If you do not agree with the Dalai Lama's teachings, fine...that is your business, but who are you to questions someone else's beliefs or joy. As far as knowing anything about his past, he has been the Dalai Lama since he was 3 or 4 years old. There are tons of information about the Dalai Lama...he is not hiding anything. BTW, Happy Birthday, Scott.

Blessings on your birthday! Wish I was there to see you in person. The live feed will have to do. I must go to pick up my son Tenzin from tennis camp in Malibu this weekend. Does anyone know if the Karmapa will be at the Kalachakra?

Hi Joseph,

I just heard from a friend that's there, apparently HHDL has requested the Karmapa to come to DC to give teachings, so I hear the Karmapa is on his way there now.....

cheers

Thank you, Thankgoodness, I heard today that HH Karmapa is extending his visit to NY through July 30th. Have not seen an itinerary yet. But all this is good news for the benefit of all sentient beings and world peace!

I'm currently reading "The Dharma of Star Wars". It is really good and I recommend it for Star Wars fans who are also interested in Buddhism.
