Bleah. I didn't notice the "sponsor generated content" line, and was seriously put off when I hit the ads that comprise slides 15 and 16.

If you're gathering market research data points, this presentation was a net negative influence on my impression of Intel, Dell, and the Huffington Post.

Headlines tell volumes. The main message here is that "All we can come up with is 13 influential women in technology." Sad. Why not 100 influential technology women? Loraine Antrim

Do not trust anyone from News Corp.

This may sound harsh. Except for "Tracy Caldwell Dyson , NASA" I don't see any real Techies in the list. STOP Calling Marketing folks and Management folks as Techies NOW.

How about Helen Greiner, co-founder of iRobot and the new start-up CyPhy Works (formerly, "The Droid Works")?

These are the types of women our young ladies should be looking up to and aspiring to be like. women who are self possessed, intelligent, powerful AND beautiful! There is nothing inherently wrong with looking up to models, singers or actresses- I hold back on the reality stars that have join the ranks of those to be emulated that having been stated, there is something to be said for balance. A boob job, and a front lace wig aren't the only fame and fortune, after all your Brain is a part of your body as well, we would all do well to work that part of ourselves out as well!! There women make me proud to share their gender! http:mybodymyimage.com

You mean cases of where supposedly the women with brains are all white or Asian. There are black women in this field who have left these women in the dust. Then as someone else pointed out there is Grace Hopper who in my view is right up there with Madame Curie. She was often criticized for her looks.
So there goes your theory that this wasn't about glamorizing.

Veronica Belmont and Molly Wood

Plus there are a lot of women CTOs and CIOs

Really? Not one black woman?
Aprille Jackson
Linda Gooden
Sharon Haynie
Deborah Jackson
Shirley Ann Jackson
Sandra K Johnson- do you know how many patents she owns in technology?
Joan Berry
Window Snyder - she learned to program at the age of 5.
Mae Jemison

And of course an honorary mention of Nichelle Nichols whose Lt Uhura character inspired many women in the field of technology.  Was your list compiled by a tea party member?
09:34 AM on 07/20/2011
I was just about to do the same reply that you did....How about
Laverne Council, Corporate Vice President and CIO,Johnson & Johnson
Wanda Austin, President and CEO,The Aerospace Corp
Emma Garrison-Alexander,Chief Information Officer,Transportation Security Administration
Linda Gooden,Executive Vice-President,Information Systems and Global Solutions, Lockheed Martin Corp.
Window Snyder, Security and Privacy Product Manager, Apple Inc.
Deborah Jackson,Program Director, Engineering Research Center

This is why we at E'LON Couture Magazine are about telling our own stories. As influential and powerful all of these black women are in technology - they get slighted by many of their underlings.

I just find it amazing that not one black women is on the list.

It is a promo article from Dell and Intel. Someone there obviously doesn't have a balanced view of the color spectrum.

I am just happy there are so many women. Thanks for the list, I am a huge fan of Mwende Window Snyder myself (found out about her through my husband who is also in Security Engineering)

Gee, women from the companies sponsoring the article made the list. WHAT a surprise.

It would seem that HuffPo needs to do a much better job separating content from advertizing.

how about the CEO of dupont? To me this is an obvious choice. Methinks the author of this piece has spent too much time in silicon valley

How about Safra Catz, President and Chief Financial Officer of Oracle!
