Duchess Of Cambridge Goes Lower-Priced For Last Day In California (PHOTOS)

After an evening of Hollywood glitz and glamour, the Duchess of Cambridge kept it low-key and lower-priced on Sunday, picking a crocheted, short-sleeved cardigan and the Lina Dobby Pleated Skirt, both from High Street chain Whistles. She completed her look with navy pumps and a cream-colored clutch.

For their last outing in California -- and the final day of their North American trip -- Prince William and the former-Kate Middleton painted and made pottery at Inner City Arts in Skid Row, put together care packages for military children at the "Mission Serve: Hiring Our Heroes" event and even took some time to pose for pictures with passersby. They left for London in the late afternoon.

The royals have already used up all the money they get from the taxpayers and now are negotiating to get even more. Sounds like the Uk has a transition government similar to Zimbabwe - one elected part - and one unelected part that gets all the money

I like Kate, think she's pretty, but I just read a disturbing article that said she's responsible for an increase in sales of pantyhose. What next? Corsets? (actually corsets are sexy) Bustles? No wonder I thought she was dressing too old.

I agree.... pretty much just a clothes hanger... Ive seen people comment on her high intelligence, but Im not sure how they came to that conclusion.

What a pity it is that the people who work day in and day out with inner city kids, the homeless and the more unfortunate in our society are rarely ever looked upon with such adoration. It has to be the clothes.

I've been trying to figure out why I like these two young people. They certainly do have that overdone word charisma - but I think it is deeper than that. It seems to me they have that old fashioned something known as grace. I have always admired Queen Elizabeth and her parents but they were essentially Edwardian. This young couple have the power to transform and add lustre to the monarchy. I think they'll do it and more power to them. I'm neither a "monarchist" or a "republican" (small R). I also think The Duchess is just what Prince William needed.

I think to a degree we look at William as a bit of a commoner based on his mothers influence and Kate was a commoner. The fact that they selected each other out of loves helps. Combined, these attributes makes them appear more down to earth, more relatable if you will.

I'd like to think that Princess Diana may have had a hand in all of this, if not by virtue of passing on her DNA and smarts to her son, then by some otherworldly means. Rainbows and unicorns? Yeah, but so what?
