Precisely. And, "The Giving Tree" - HATED? Really? Maybe someone couldn't read and didn't like the pictures?

The Road, The Grapes of Wrath, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn = all books I should have probably appreciated, but didn't.

The Corrections - and any other claptrap from Jonathan Franzen (not that I'd ever wade through another one!). Da Vinci Code and the Twilight series are some of the worst things I've ever read - but at least they were over quickly.

I picked up "The Shack" at my local grocery store while waiting for a friend to go through the check out aisle. The book sounded so awful people started staring at me because I laughed so hard reading the back description.

Anything by Rpbert Bolano . So overrated

Could never get thru Infinite jest , but loved every essay I ever read by David Foster Wallace- the guy is brilliant and reading him , makes it quite clear why he committed suicide- he saw and felt tooo much

The Road? Really? I thought it was heart-breakingly beautiful. I loved the minimalist style and the bleak, stark words that created the bleak, stark world.

I loved half of these books! The other half I hadn't read so I can't say if I hate them or not.

I never understood The Giving Tree. What is the message? Give until you are destroyed?

I guess all the people who would have remembered "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" are all dead now and can't comment.

I still have my copy of Jonathon.....I kind of liked it, even though I didn't really understand it but those were the days of smoking weed. I figured that was the reason why I didn't get it

I agree on all but Angela's Ashes. Great story, but why do male authors ALWAYS have such bad endings?

Please add "The Secret"
