Israeli McDonald's Takes Supersizing Very Seriously With 'Big' Burgers, Nixes McFalafel

First Posted: 07/11/11 04:55 PM ET Updated: 09/10/11 06:12 AM ET

McDonald's Israel has debuted two half-pound (actually, .55 pound) steak burgers. Meanwhile, the vegetarian McFalafel has left the menu, despite having been introduced just about six months ago.

The "Big America" series includes the Big New York steak burger (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion and Royal Sauce) and the Big Texas steak burger (barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and fried onion). The burgers' name go along with McDonald's frequent decision to name food items after cities, regardless of if the foods have anything to do with the locations.

I hear they have a new new burger coming out next week called the Palestinian Burger. It comes with no meat, cheese, sauce, lettuce, pickles or a bun.

Why does Huffington Post give so much space to McDonald's? From the costume to the obese making menu items it seems there is another promo piece for this garbage food dealer every few days.

Try a Mcdonalds burger side by side with one from Burger King. There is an obvious difference in favor of the king. The flame broiled burger wins hands down.

Israelis think Texas is a city?

(I guess there is a Texas City, but I doubt anyone who doesn't live within 100 miles could locate it on a map)

The article claimed an Israeli proclivity of naming food after cities. As a former student in Delaware, Ohio I find this amusing. Ain't furriners funny?

Texas City is a 40,000-person city located some 35 miles outside of Houston. A lot of chemical plants call it home, hence the nickname "Toxic City".
