A very good primer for what is happening and has happened because of Tparty loons and Republicans is encapsulated in the documentary "Fuel". It is about our energy. We are far behind European countries where the citizens have demanded change.
It was extremely interesting to see how John D. Rockefeller= Standard Oil, pushed for prohibition and funded groups that were in the temperance movement to annihilate the fuel Henry Ford's cars used. After Rockefeller got prohibition legislated, and Henry Ford had to resort to manufacturing gasoline powered cars, Rockefeller pushed for the repeal of prohibition.
Also, it showed that Bush and Cheney had secret meetings with the heads of the oil companies 6 months before the Twin Towers fell and they studied maps of the Iraq oil fields. The congressional hearings where democratic representatives asked what was discussed in these meetings, Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska stopped their qustioning and refused to let the democratically elected women get an answer from the oil executives.
