St. Margaret's is around the corner from my place. My wife used to be the office manager for the school. Couldn't get within a block to take a photo before anyone arrived.

We met the Ford's when we lived in the Vail Valley. Great people. Mrs. Ford touched so many lives positively. They both contributed so much to their local communities. What she did for women, breast cancer victims, the drug and alcohol dependent was absolutely incredible.

Her passing is a big loss. She was a First class act in an era of many class acts. That era is over. Mrs. Ford got Cokie Roberts in her eulogy to remind those in DC to be friends first. It would be nice if they would listen.

I was watching the service on tv. I like to think her middle finger went up when the casket went past mr. bush.

Ratify ERA. So that's how Republicans used to act. I'd almost forgotten. Can you see Sarah and Michele putting on that button? Miss you, Betty. Classy lady.

Farewell to one of the classiest, kindest and most enduring examples of how to be a First Lady.

When I say things were so much better when I was a young person, a lot of times people disagree with me. But, this is a quote from a Republican first lady:

That's what we're here on this earth for, to help others.

Betty Ford

I rest my case...

Not afraid to speak her own mind. Smart, classy, sassy and did so much for others by letting us see her human side. RIP, we need more like her.
