Emma Watson Heading To Oxford, Still Enrolled At Brown

Emma Watson Oxford

As she wraps up her tenure as Hermione Granger, Emma Watson plans to go back to school -- but this time in the UK.

According to the Mirror, Watson will study at Oxford University's Worcester College this fall. Watson announced that she was leaving Brown University in Rhode Island earlier this year.

Sources at the school told the New York Daily News in April that Watson was often heckled and teased at Brown.

But the young star maintains that she hasn't officially dropped out of the school. "I'm going to Oxford in the fall, to study English for a year," she said at a Harry Potter press conference Monday, according to ABC Action News. "Just to explain, I haven't left Brown. I'm still enrolled at Brown, but I'm doing my third year abroad to study - at home."

Emma I love you as an actor, why waste your time with studying english etc. You have so much money do something much more challenging with your mind chemical engineering, physics engineering aeronautical, aerospace, civil, mechanical engineering these are disciplines that will open up whole new pathways of thinking, learning, and your perception of the world. Theres a reason why nearly 90% of all college students could never make it through programs like these. I know you could. ERAU physics engineering great place. Sorry to say, any joe or jane can graduate with english, psychology, etc degree. Challenge the mind to new levels and it will open up so much more of the world to you. AlsoI dont know if you play music but violin or classical guitar something it would make you much more of a complete person when your fingers dance to Bachs music you feel him inside you, its beautiful. I wish you only the best.

Brown was rated the happiest Ivy to study before Emma went there. I am sure that it still is.
My nephew was there for a campus visit after his admission this real, and he and his parents found the students to be nice, intelligent, and very sophisticated. Very preppy in a good way (my characterization, not his).
They were sure that if they has chosen Brown over another good university they chose for undergraduate research, they would have been very happy.
I am saying this because a great university like Brown is getting unnecessary flak. You need to ask the real people who really go there.

She is spending her junior year "abroad" to study at Oxford, and will return to complete her senior year at Brown next year.

No big deal. She has all the money in the world to go wherever she wants. Brown? Who cares?

They must have filled their mud blood quota at Brown. Time to start getting in on your own merit- Emma!

*Sigh* too bad she didn't decide on California. I swear, I have a total crush on her, and Anne Hathaway.

Emma is studying abroad at Oxford. This is a typical Brown thing. Many students take a semester or two abroad or in other places in the US. As for the quality of the students at Brown, these are bright, motivated, driven students. The curriculum choices are vast and the professors are the best and the brightest.

As for the location, Providence and Rhode Island in general has a lot to offer. The only drawback is the cost of off-campus housing and having Rhode Island School of Design students in competition for that same housing. And, sadly many best and brightest Brown Grads can't find jobs in RI and leave.

She seems like she is a sweet girl. I hope she turns out like Bristol/Venus/Selena/Serena and not Brittney/Paris/Lindsey/Miley.

I don't have a problem with a girl that decided to do the right thing and keep her baby.

From Justjared blog:

Emma Watson shines in the sunlight on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK’s August 2011 issue, on newsstands July 7.

On why she left school: “Leaving Brown had nothing to do with bullying, as the media have been suggesting recently. I have never been bullied in my life. Like a lot of other students at Brown, I might spend my third year abroad.”

She should have gone to a real Ivy like Harvard. Brown is in Providence, RI for God's sake. Emma Watson was the biggest thing to hit RI since Hurricane Gloria in 1985! Of course she was harrassed! Brown is a "safety-Ivy" that no one wants to be at. Couple that with it being in boring, depressing Providence and you get a lot of brats who hate where they are and hate anyone that got what they wanted in life, like Ms. Watson.

Brown has repeatedly debunked the teasing and harassing stories. HP- please correct.

Enough with the stupidity, already. Brown's a good school and no, she wasn't harrassed. And what's with the "brats who hate" nonsense..........sounds like you applied and got rejected.

Instead of Einstein's pic, you should display Alfred E Newman

You can get into a good Wizard University after going to Hogwart's. I am sure Dumbledore would write a great letter for her!
