Katie Holmes Says No To Plastic Surgery, Hopes To 'Age Gracefully'
From chin jobs to cheek implants, butt lifts to brow lifts, it seems like there's nothing a weeklong retreat to the "spa" won't fix. For Hollywood's leading ladies, going under the knife seems to be the norm but natural beauty, Katie Holmes will have no part of it.
The 32-year-old actress, wife to Tom Cruise and mother to the ridiculously adorable Suri looks flawless as In Style's August cover girl and she's opening up to the magazine about how her body is changing as she matures -- although 32 is hardly over the hill.
"I'll have to figure it out," she told the magazine (via People). "But I don't think I'm every going to do my lips -- my sisters would kill me!"
But Holmes isn't the only one to say 'no way' when it comes to going under the knife. Never mind the likes of Joan Rivers and Kathy Griffin who have become the poster children (or rather poster women) for plastic surgery, Tinseltown is forgetting the faux and championing the natural.
"I don't know what I can do about the aging," perennial beauty Sarah Jessica Parker told ELLE in 2010. "Yes, I am aging. Oh my God, I'm aging all the time. It's like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?"
Julianne Moore couldn't agree more that unnatural isn't "normal."
"My feeling is live and let live," she told Health magazine. "But some of those procedures that make you look younger--I don't know that they really made anybody look younger. I think most of the time they made you look like you've had something done to your face. Even with the laser stuff, the skin becomes so shiny. It's like nothing sticks to it. It's just shiny, shiny skin, and it doesn't have a normal patina, so you're like, 'What's the matter with them?'"
Recently Megan Fox uploaded pictures to her Facebook page of herself performing various expressions, proving that she's never gone under the needle to score her flawless complexion. Although it's no feat for a taut-faced 25-year-old to have stayed natural thus far, it isn't completely absurd for young starlets to start their plastic surgery careers at ridiculously young ages -- 30-year-old Kim Kardashian has gotten Botox injections and who could forget 24-year-old Heidi Montag's plastic surgery marathon in 2009 when she received 10 procedures in one day.
But Katie Holmes isn't planning to follow in these reality show starlets' perfectly sculpted footsteps and is hoping to just let time do its thing -- we have a feeling it will take more than a decade or two for Holmes to look anything but youthful.
