Porn At Work: 3 Percent Of Americans Admit To Watching Pornography At Work (POLLS)

Watching pornography at work isn't something many people would call advisable.

But apparently that doesn't stop everyone.

A new survey, conducted by Harris Interactive, has shown that about 3 percent of Americans admit to watching pornography while at work, according to Business News Daily. Whether they're watching it on computers or mobile devices, the survey showed that the majority of those online during work hours watch video in general.

The survey, which was commissioned by Qumu, a business video provider looked at all types of video people watch while at work. Apparently, 64 percent of those that participated admitted to watching videos at work, and on average, men are 20 percent more likely to say they watch videos than women.

The videos people watch in general vary from news, to sports, to viral videos to even full-length feature films. The study looked at 2,510 adults ages 18 and older.

You can see fuller stats here, from businesswire.

But the percentage who watch porn may be even higher than those that admitted to it. In March 2010, following allegations that SEC staffers watched porn on work computers, the Nielsen company reported that 21 million Americans (29 percent of the adult workforce) accessed porn sites on work computers that month.

That said, this new survey looked specifically at video, and required a bit of honesty in participation, which may have affected the numbers.

I don't know how to answer the poll.

Does it count if you accidentally visit a porn site, and sit there speechless watching the video?

How about if one of your co-workers tells you to check out a great link called "SOP Update," which naturally leads to some of the most confusing sexual acts I've ever seen in my life?

The better question is: How many Americans masturbate in the office bathroom after watching porn at their desk?

I showed all my co-workers the following:

2 girls 1 cup
Mr. Hands
1 man 1 jar
The Pain Olympics

I fully suggest that everyone look into these videos. That is all.

i think they need to do a study of women who email NSFW stuff. I don't necessarily mean sexting or personal pics of themselves. Those who sent raunchy jokes and or sexy nasty powerpoints. I'm very much surprised of the women who send me stuff like that. I love it, I hope it never stops.

As anIT pro for going on 17 years, I can say number 1 dumbest thing you could do at work, outside stealing, or getting caught screwing in the server room, is to use a company asset to view porn.

if you rely on content filter hits, there's a lot of sites that show as pornography that really aren't.

I love the picture of the word "Porn" typed into a search bar, as if that's how it's done.

Everyone's got a favorite site, XNXX.com anyone?

If any of my employees watch videos (porn or not) during paid working time, they are given a first warning.

Second time - a hearing and final warning.

Third time - sacked.

Watching videos is not clever - it is stealing your employer's time.  Do it at home, by all means.  Porn too, if you must.  Work is work; down time is down time.  Enjoy!
